Normal for your recall to hit you after waking up?

When I first woke up and got out of bed, I didn't remember any dreams. However, about two minutes later I came back into my room about to grab my dream journal. Then all of a sudden it hit me; I remembered a really awesome dream in detail.

Any ideas why (as do most of my recalls) happen after I'm out of bed, and never when I'm laying in bed trying to remember?

This happens to me too, I only remember some fragment or moment of a dream, but I'm like "I know there was more". And after a while, it starts flooding in. The brain probably needs some time to properly wake up and start functioning? Or the memory is kinda "moved to a different place" in the brain, than where it was in the dream state, so you are unable to access it, till the process of moving is done? Like with a computer

. Your body becomes a lot more active after you get up and start doint something, and so does your brain, probably. But if you take too long to write the memory down, it starts fading away again.

I've been having this a lot the last few days. I guess it's normal. Sometimes I have the complete story in my head after waking up. But it also happens on my way to work or during breakfast.

It differs to me everyday, so one day i can wake up and still lie in bed having a recall in a nano second, and next day i have to force myself to remember, then next day i remember 20mins later.
