      Scary False Awakenings

      I remember a few nights ago, I had this dream where something happened to jump out at me and scared me awake(can't remember what). I woke up in my bed thought the dream was weird so I got up to go to my kitchen. I reached my bedroom door then suddenly woke up again.

      That freaked me out so I got up again, I walked out of my room and got a couple steps down my hall and I woke up again. Every time I would get a little further down my hallway but wake up again and at the time I didn't know what was going on.

      Once I finally was getting close to the end of my hallway my movement started to get slower like i was in slow motion then I reached the hall door and woke up for real. Has this sort of thing happened to anyone else?

      TL;DR I kept having false awakenings where Id wake up in my bed over and over like 10 times.

      Btw I dont know if I put this in the right section, sorry if its wrong forum area.

      I've had those, it can be so discombobulating. I've had the false awakenings where I'd wake up several times in the same bed, but different times of day, others were Inception like. Reality checks can be your friend.

      Do some RC's every morning and things will change.

      Man that's wild and I've been doing RCs but I forget to do them regularly throughout the day.

      i often experience chains of false awakenings - very frustrating! the worst is when you do something terrible in a dream, and, waking up, you reassure yourself that you were just dreaming -- but it's a false awakening and the consequences of your dream actions follow you.

      then you wake up for real, and your groggy mind has to figure out what was real and what wasn't. totally screws with your head.

      using RCs consistently will probably help you turn these false awakenings into lucid dreams. i find if that I use RCs only intermittently i actually experience more false awakenings... probably because my waking mind is focused on LD and related phenomena but i'm not doing anything to reinforce a stable pattern of reality checking.

      good luck! : ^ }

      I've personally never had a dream with in a dream more than four times, but I agree with the others in saying that you should do reality checks daily . Good luck.

      I've been getting them more a lot lately and it's very confusing and scary. Lately I've dreamed up full realistic conversations with my boyfriend only to wake up 10 minutes later and ask him if that really happened or if the conversation occurred. It's unsettling at times.
