      28. shared dreaming is impossible
      29. Dilating time in dream is impossible
#26: It's happened to me and also when other people did it in my dream, Once there was an alarm with flashing red lights going off and I woke up.

I think part of it is because I wanted to wake up; I wanted to because then I'd have a bit more time to not ruin my clothes, And attempt to resist ejaculating (And on many occasions, Fail. Having safeguards against it long before I even fall asleep will make it not happen in the first place.)

But, Some people may not wake if they have such dreams.

#27: It's a bit hard for me to say I did or did not laugh or cry in dreams as none come to mind now in which I did. But I'm not about to say I didn't.

And again, Perhaps it's different for some other people.

#28: I once dreamed I was in a nice building in a cloud and I met two people there who I may have become friends with quickly. Near the end of the dream I was a bit sad because I knew I would wake up and I said something about that to them. I'm not about to say shared dreaming can happen or can not, But I'd like to believe it's possible.

#29: Again, I'd like to believe it's possible and the other day I had a dream I wasn't sure I'd wake from which at the time I didn't think was fun.

That's happened to me, Maybe believing it will happen if I dream it is what causes it. Being determined to wake up when it happened certainly preceded waking when it happened.

There is an explanation for this. According to The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley, people used to dream in black and white because of the television/films from that time. With the arrival of color television and such this changed.
I don't really know if it's true, it obviously could have influenced some people, but who knows... I never had the chance to ask any of my grandparents. Something tells me it's bullshit, anyway.

Yeah, I'm lactose intolerant, so I eat chocolate and ice cream in dreams.

      36. dream control is pagan voodoo magic

--ive also read, re-read the same thing, used electronics and had consistent math. rare, but definitely possible!

It's hard to make a list like this because people are adding their personal unscientific beliefs, like that shared dreaming is possible. (I was thinking of adding 'shared dreaming is possible' as a myth and then read that someone else thinks 'shared dreaming is impossible' is a myth). There's also some redundancy and stuff that could be phrased better. But since this is just for fun, I'll add:

      37) Someone can tell you what your dreams mean based solely on their content. (Truth: Although there may be some commonalities and some interpretations may be obvious, it really depends on your own psychology and what the dream means for you, if anything. So many people claim to be 'dream interpreters', but really, the best dream interpreter is the person who had the dream in the first place, since they know themselves best).

I love the number 5. Seriously, the one who said that must be stupid. I get lots of dream at like the same hour.
      but here's mine:
      38. If you didn’t wake up with a dream in your head, then you didn’t dream that night.

When I was a kid I got really into those black and white shows they used to show on TV. One night after a black and white Dennis the Menace marathon, I dreamed in black and white. Except the Ninja Turtles were there and they were the only things with color.

No matter how many conceptions or misconceptions are listed here, If someone believes in them they might actually apply to them, E.G. the whole "Dreams are mostly black and white" Thing. By posting that I'll have also stopped replying to some things listed here which I don't necessarily agree with.

Perhaps I'd work better in a "Your conceptions about dreams" thread instead of a "Misconceptions about dreams" Thread.

Based on my own experience, these were things I believed when I was a kid:

      42. You can bring things from your dreams if you hide them in a proper place and you remember where it was when you wake up. (Lost count how many times I tried to do it)
      43. During a lucid, you can tell somebody it's a dream and once you wake up they could remember it. (Lost count how many times I tried to do it)
      44. You can wake up other people during a dream. (Lost count how many times I tried to do it)

I did hear it interferes with regular sleeping patterns or something to that effect but does it? Recording dreams is fine from what I understand, Though.
