Thread: Do I need help? Ugh

I'm not going to go into great detail but basically I had a very long vivid dream that was me having sex with my mom. I feel disgusted and disturbed. Is this normal to have these kinds of dreams or what? I haven't ever thought of this kind of thing before. It was very vivid. But god, I feel so nasty now. Please help or something. I don't know what to do.

That's not so unusual, somehow the dreaming mind can sometimes fail to differentiate between members of the same family. I think usually these occur when you are more deeply asleep, also sometimes you get a little bit too much of certain chemicals in your brain that can additionally contribute to that. It's not very nice, especially after you wake up. But know that there's nothing wrong with you or your relatives and don't worry about it.

It's fine. It's quite natural to dream weird things...

Moods can be very strong in dreams influencing overall dream contents and the rational mind plays a smaller role compared to real life. Hence, all kinds of exaggerated situations are possible and things can get out of hand even if you are lucid. On the whole, I prefer not to dwell too much on negative experiences unless there's something to be learned from them. Take care!

Actually don't try to forget, as trying to forget you will always remember it. Just if you start thinking about it , just move on , and don't worry, it will go away in day or two.
