Can the dead communicate with us through dreams?

Last night i had a dream about my deceased uncle. He died this year right before Christmas. In the dream I was at my grandma's house for some family get together party. We were all sitting at a big table and having pasta&salad. My deceased uncle was giving me a palm reading then he said to me, "you will have a good life. but you will never get your life together if you stay with your boyfriend." In the dream he looked like a completely different person. He was taller, wearing a nice gray suit, and his hair was slicked back. But in real life he always looked sick, weak, and unkempt. I felt like he was trying to warn me about my boyfriend or send me some kind of sign. My boyfriend and I are having a rocky relationship right now. To make a long story short, he was recently arrested for possession of heroin. He had been doing drugs & selling them. He is currently out on bail and he claims to be "clean" but i don't know if i believe that. I'm having a hard time trusting him because he lied to me so much, used me for money, & supposedly cheated on me. And the weird thing is that my uncle was also a heroin user. Do you think it's possible he was watching over me and trying to protect me?

When i woke up i was covered in goosebumps!!! I have never had a dead person communicate with me through a dream before

What a neat dream. Thank you for sharing it. Personally, I choose to believe it's possible. I know that I have learned things about people through dreaming about them, only later to find out the stuff is true. If that is possible, then I think it's possible the deceased can also communicate to us in our dreams. *shrug* Also... it sounds like he has some really good advice. Never sacrifice your self respect for someone else. Besides, they will love you more in the long run, if you stand up for yourself and stop enabling their bad behaviors. <3

Wow me too! Most of my dreams come true. Maybe we have some kind of gift Thank you for replying, i'd like to think it's possible too. I'm going to try to contact my uncle tonight & ask him to show up in my dream again, so I'll know it's real.

Whether you can communicate with the dead through dreams is debatable. But either way you should think about letting your boyfriend go because if its not your uncle thinking that's what's best then it's your subconscious. Hope you choose what you think is best sincerely, Iron

So I contacted my uncle last night and asked to see him again. He didn't show up in my dream but something freaky happened to my mom. She has something of his on Etsy, and right after I contacted him, someone sent her an email on Etsy saying they were interested in the item.

Robert Van de Castle was my living, dream, boyfriend. He died aged 86 in January. So, Yeah! We did break-up. Haha I know this was just a case of wrong thread But I am missing my Avatar partner who often came to me in dreams on my sacred beach (Henley Beach Jetty here in Adelaide, South Australia). And I'll take your (mistaken) post as a synchronistic message from BobV inviting me to ask him questions. Oh another synchronicity is that it is 7pm Friday 31 October here. It is ♣Halloween♣. I guess Bob Van De Castle could not resist getting his message through to me on this day of all days (Heeeehehehe) Thank you 101Volts

As I've recently lost my father, I can sort of relate to what you're saying. While he's never given me advice about my life, per se, he's had a definite positive presence in my dreams. Much more than before his passing. As to whether the "dead" communicate with us in dreams, there's no good way to either prove or disprove that. I personally am rather skeptical of the idea, but that doesn't make it wrong. Or right. Let's say it's up to you to decide which side you take. Hope that wasn't too ranty. :p I like to talk. Thanks!

If the dead can communicate with us in dreams, it seems like it would be more likely for them to communicate in waking, as waking seems to be a more receptive time for us as humans. I doubt that would change. Because of the nature of dreams though, we think that they are much different than waking. I think that waking life is just as mysterious and has many unsolved mysteries, familiarity just breeds contempt.

It is certainly possible, but it is also very hard to prove these kinds of things, even for ourselves. But it would be pretty overconfident to believe that we "know" everything about the nature of reality - it is definitely possible that spirits could have some contact with each other during certain states.

So far, I'm not sure what to say. I've heard that it's not good to contact the dead according to a Catholic Bible outside the Old and New Testaments but does that just depend on whether they're zombies/vampires/corpses/etc or not or is what I read in that book not true? What's going on? It would be stupid to even try to get along with Zombies; They're dead! With that being said, I've seen numerous people who have physically died; some of them are musicians and my maternal grandmother is another one of them. I've seen these people in-dream: D. Boon (he once invited me to go in a dark place down some stairs which I didn't accept. I don't recall him holding a light in that dream although there was light from the doorway I stood in.) Mark Sandman (On stage singing about something terrible which involved a sink and a garbage disposal and the second dream showed him standing next to me holding a bass guitar I built for him; He died in 1999 and in many videos he looked like he was lacking sleep yet in the latter one he looked groomed.) Kurt Cobain (At least half a dozen times, once when he talked to me.) Grandma (Who in once dream, was wearing golden clothes and had a glowing face) I've also seen Jesus Christ in dreams; Once, I saw him outside my window so I opened the door but he wasn't there when I opened it. Or was I mistaken? In another one he asked me for a wooden beam which I gave to him. However, I also saw a fake Jesus statue in another dream so I gotta watch out for the fakers and not listen to them. And in yet another one I saw him on a card; His eyes were light. I've also seen a lot of corpses and some zombies and vampires and werewolves. Come to think of it, it's not good for me to have dreams of becoming any of those dead-heads I mentioned.
