      Lucid dreaming is easy

      Maybe it's weird that I say that because I just had few mikro LDs and actually just one a little longer.

      However I really believe that lucid dreaming is easy. I'll say more: it's not even a skill for me. If it is why people can have it by luck? You can't play a piece of Beethoven because you were lucky or paint like Rembrandt without talent and/or practise. Of course some people have these predispositions for LD and you can say "that is this talent thing" but I think it's bad comparison because it's just different. I mean... you can be better in LD if you practise but what if you can do whatever you want even in the first one? Only obstacles are your doubts. If you're a kid you just enjoy it, yeah? As anything. So I see this like:

      1) You have an innocent mind and you can naturally do whatever you want with it, you're learning by your own experience, just enjoying.
      2) You find out the terms for these phenomenons, you read about it, you discover new techniques, people tell you that this is hard, that they have issues, that something is impossible, that you should do this or that, you think that you must practise all over and over again, you start to have doubts, thoughts, now you foucse too much on these feelings.
      3) You come to the conclusion that you mustn't focus on all these things and that you must be calm, that you only need this "thoughts energy".
      4) You try to achieve point '1' although you was there on the first place.

      So maybe it sounds like I suggest that all this forum is unnecessary ;p Well, it is on some point but I don't mean it. I'm just wondering if all this stuff is really indispensable? I see by myself and I read/hear that some people have these thoughts also: that what you really need is only this pure, true energy/thought/feeling - call it as you want - and it can last seconds or not even that long. Intention - that's probably a good word. It doesn't have to be a long, systematic process, the only matter is the power of this intention which you can create naturally and easy. And now we just fight with this ability, not on purpose of course, because we forgot about what we really are. Even this post is not really sensible. Same thing is with recall and probably with many other spiritual (or even not only?) stuff.

      What do you think about it?

      I agree with you in general. in my opinion it is not difficult to have A lucid dream. they can happen random and without any effort. but to be a lucid dreamer with regular (daily) lucid dreams is not necessarily difficult but needs some effort and dedication. Its more of a lifestyle than something you train with exercise schedule

      i agree that there are a lot of bad schemata like this or that is difficult or you when this happens you need to do this to approach that... same with sleep paralysis and stuff.

      but on the other hand i think with the right approach and the right filters you can enhance your learning speed by reading the right tutorials or articles when you learn everything by doing and failure you will need longer. its not necessarily a worse approach but it needs more time but you learn thorough.

      and the fact that you come to your conclusion is a step in the right direction. i remember the moment i realized the same. it gets easier. and thats the long run and not the i do a technique and expect a instant gratification and if not next technique and so on.

      Yes, that's true, some informations from the outside are helpful. But there is this next thing: people are different. So the best solution I think is to get know yourself as much as possible and these tutorials may ruin some of your already knowing things. I see this mistake in my life. So I'm stuck at point 2 actually.

      I think that the reason why lucid dreaming is sometimes considered a "skill" is because it has a lot to do with your lifestyle, and your attitude to dreaming.
      Most so-called "naturals" start having lucid dreams every night simply because they developed a curiosity for dreams at a very early age, and since children's brains are more "plastic" they will more easily stimulate their brains to pay more attention to the dreamworld and understand that they are dreaming even at a later age;
      and it is essentially this kind of dream awareness that is the definition of a lucid dream.

      The "skill" about lucid dreaming is to develop this kind of attitude, so that you are more easily "ready" when the dream is occurring.

      It's kind of like studying for an exam - studying at the last second may let you pass the test, but it won't really give you any permanent understanding of the subject, whereas serious studying and repetitions over a long period will give you much better knowledge.
      I think that lucid dreaming is kind of the same thing - if you develop a certain attitude to dreams over a longer period, then this will eventually "stick" and you will start having them more and more often without that much effort at all, because you have trained your brain to be that way - and the best opportunity to accomplish this is probably during childhood, although it can of course be accomplished later as well.
