Thread: How To Make Dreams More Exciting?

The best advice I can give you, is try more exciting things while your awake... and watch movies right before bed.

yeah, it's just that i'm getting quite bored of dreaming. and my DJ seems pointless since not many people come by anymore, except Twoshadows. I'll try your suggestion.

Oh don't you dare get bored of dreaming and quit. It's not pointless--and I'm sure I'm not the only one who reads your Dj.

I have wanted to do the experiment of watching movies right beofre bed to see if I can make my dreams more interesting. I haven't started yet, but I have a feeling that it would work.

I've noticed that reading a good book will affect my dreams too. I think any interesting stimuli in your life can come through in your dreams.

I'm not saying that your life is uninteresting because your dreams seem boring to you. But maybe you need something completely different than the normal. I'm not sure what that would be for you, but think about it.

As you know I had some good luck recently with really drilling it into my head before bed what I was going to dream about.

I want to try it again tonight. You should try too. I haven't decided what to do yet since I did the Task--and that had been my big goal.

Do you want to try and dream about the same thing for a fun little experiment?

As for books, I'm reading "The Art of Seduction" by Robert Green. and interestingly enough i was Don juan in a dream. So maybe I'll read more tonight.

and sure, i'll try to see if we can dream together on the same thing. and since it's your LD anniversarry. maybe we could dream you getting an LD cake! wouldn't that be something? maybe that's TOO specific. any other suggestions?

Hey I've been reading; I don't always say something but I enjoy the dream journal forum and I get inspired and see that I'm not the only one who has problems. So hang in there! I bet you'll have a good lucid again soon and feel more like it.

I don't have a TV or computer in my bedroom; I was thinking of getting one of those little DVD players and watching little bits of movie like right before or as I go to sleep. I don't know; it seems a little desperate, but I was thinking it might help. Maybe you could try something like that.

No that's okay. Sometimes I feel like my dreams are pretty dull. (And it's usually after reading Oneironaut's DJ )

Okay...what would be fun?

We can start with the simple task of just seeing if we can see each other in a dream.

If we want to try something more advanced then let's pick a location. If you want to try to do the Lucid Task we could meet on an island and I can help you get rid of the snakes.

Of course I'm not expecting this to be a "shared dream" since I'm not really a believer in those (as cool as they would be). But I think that if we have the same goal in mind that it would help us focus before bed and give us a greater chance of having a more interesting dream.

What do you think?

try my technique, tbb. If correctly u can pcik whtcha u do in ur dreams, lucid or non lucid. this will help u come up with more exciting dreams.

heh, sometimes i'll do that with the WBTB. so far I've succeeded in getting DV member dreams that way. I'll wake up and hold an image of someone, or something as i fall a sleep and some of the time i'll get a dream related too it.

sure, thing. as for shared dreaming. I'm not 100% sure wether it works or not. I had a GF in b.c. and when i left for alberta we both had a dream the same night that we were in a school looking for eachother. There was another i tried to set up shared dreaming with. i remember a dream where i clearly saw her face. only i didn't know what she looked like, until she sent me a pic, and it looked exactly the same! BUT it might've been my unconcious telling me what i wanted to believe. i dunno.

i'll browse a few of your posts and do some RC's. Same with you moonbeam, i owe you a dream with you in it since you had one with me!

Do you dream journal? If you don't, do. If you do, go into more detail.

We need to plan a DV get-together in our dreams. See how many members we can get to show up. It could be lucid or not.

I think we should add that we both had a little luck with this experiment.

That you dreamed about me.... and I dreamed that I was on the island.

So this goes to show that bedtime visualization can work.

mm hmm i'm just starting out but all the dreams i've forced have been rather short and not very vivid, compared to the ones randomly had beforehand.

Yeah Hypnotica kicks ass! I have his sphinx of Imagination CD. I even made a NLP induction, where i cop his style somewhat. I even called it "Trance-Forming dreams." the link in my sig should lead you too it.

Eat whatever the hell Oneironaut's eating, that guys dreams are crazy. But in all seriousness, I am having the same problem as of late. I haven't really been playing video games anymore so I have not been exposed to any badass action scenes. Id suggest turning off all the lights and watching an action movie with the sound cranked, and then going straight to sleep.

now it's gettin worse, my recall has gone down quite a bit.

whenever i lose recall for a day or two, it always comes out for the best, i got 4 lucids in 2 days and 1 false awakening
