      foreign languages in dreams

Sometimes I found myself perfectly understanding and speaking languages I don't speak in real life. Even the grammar always feels flawless in dreams. I wonder if the words would be that perfect grammatically and if they make any sense at all, if I actually could write them down (which I absolute can not).

Dream speak/ Dream talk. That in my opinion works in the same way how we can see a flying green elephant in a dream and to our dream selves it seem perfectly logical.

Hehe, I'm wondering how you can know that your grammar is flawless if you don't know the language . Anyways, I agree with Jeff, it's most likely gibberish that seems logical because it's in a dream.

When hearing a foreign language it seems like gibberish with distinct sounds and pronunciations. Dream languages probably match these sounds but the speak is still gibberish. Since we cannot refute that the gibberish is not the language it is fully accepted as the language. We can probably even understand them in dreams since our mind translates to what we want to hear.

      Just my 2 pennies.

I guess, you're right. Now, as you mention it, it reminds me of this funny video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=KfEE_nYehZ8

When I have foreign language dreams (not often), it's Spanish. Sometimes I even remember exactly what was said (many times I'll find english words have been inserted--even if I know the spanish word!).

I don't remember any other languages besides English and the occasional Spanish.

I also find that accent is impeccable in dreams. Perhaps I only 'think' accent is perfect (as Jeff said, we tend to make things logical).

I've had a couple of dreams where I'm speaking to or listening to someone speak Russian. Once this old lady was talking to me, but I had no idea what she was saying to me. That was probably due to my mind-set that IRL when I start speaking to someone in Russian, I feel that I just won't be able to understand them.

However, one time, I was able to become lucid because of this. I was speaking to someone in Russian (not expecting them to understand), but I was making up words to replace those which I didn't know. However, all of a sudden I thought to myself, "Wait, I don't just make up words!" and became lucid So, keep your ears open!
