Can't remember my dreams on school days.

On weekends and holidays, I remember two to three dreams a night almost without fail. But out of the five days of a school week, two or three days I have no recall whatsoever. I'm not sure if it's due to stress, waking up to an alarm, or just getting less sleep in general, but I don't think I can change any of those things. Does anyone else have this problem? How do you cope with it?

Go to sleep earlier. Or if you desperately want. Wake up at night. Write down your dreams and hola back to bed

I used to have this problem in High School. You just need to get to sleep at the same time each night and relax. Stress and busy schedule can kill recall. Try to keep your sleeping patterns regular.

Interesting Barbizzle, I must be an outlier because High School was the time where I had the most success with recall. Now, I'm looking forward to my last semester of university because I'll probably be back to a more regular sleep schedule. The good thing about high school for me was the consistant sleep schedule..I knew I had to be up every morning at 6:30 so I went to sleep accordingly. Now, I have class varying from 9am start time to 1:30pm start time some days, which really makes it impossible to have a consistant schedule.

Add bars and clubs and alcohol and man its just impossible to maintain a bed time. Last night for example I was in bed at 3am, and the night before it was midnight.

I know how it is. I find myself constantly having weird bed times, but I also have greater power giving my self a schedule that I WANT to follow when I really feel like getting into Lucid Dreaming. In Highschool, I was always waking up way too early for my taste, and it killed my LDs.

I do wake up at the same time each day, but it's difficult to go to sleep at a regular time. Some days I get home at about 3:00, do my homework then, and get to sleep at 9:00 or 10:00. Other days, I'm at school with choir and winterguard practice until about 8:00, and I don't get to sleep until midnight or later. I can't sacrifice my homework for an earlier bedtime, and I really don't care to go to bed at midnight every night to stabilize my sleeping pattern. It's frustrating, but with winter break coming up, hopefully I'll be able to get better at dream recall and have some lucid dreams then.

Try waking yourself up a little earlier to give yourself time for some proper recall. If you're like me, you probably sleep in until the last possible minute, then rush to get out the door on time. THat doesn't help at all.

I've done that and found that it helps when I actually do it, but sometimes it's difficult to actually write the dream when I know I could sleep for ten more minutes instead. In that half-asleep state, I assume I'll remember later, but, of course, I don't. Also, many resources say, when recalling dreams, to lie in the same position you woke up in and close your eyes, and of course I fall back to sleep when I do this at 5:00 in the morning.
