Thread: Animatrix

Yup after watching the Animatrix I as well had a rather large plethora of fantastically whimsical lucid dreams.

At least I'm not the only one... Could you watch it again, and post the results?

I watched a few pieces of it before when I was drunk years ago. I just re-bought it and will try watching it tonight. The movie freaks me out.

Why aren't the pieces on Youtube yet? Youtubers love to slice films, and this seems perfect for it, but they don't have it!

Anyway, Animatrix rocks. I didn't have a dream journal back then, so I don't know what I dreampt when I watched it.

I watched it again last night, and really focused on feeling like the characters... Once I was sufficiently open-minded, and kinda creeped out, I went to sleep...

My recall wasn't great, but I do remember a bit of it...

I started running, and just took off... I started flying, and stayed flying for a long time, up in the clouds, slowly drifting, going by V's of geese...
When I got back to earth, I had a strange feeling in my mouth, and I pulled out feathers... I kept spitting out feathers every once in a while.

I noticed my dreams were more vivid and in a format more liken to the visual aspects of the Animatrix. Which is pretty badass. Matrix abilities present. It's awesome if you can re-create any or all of this film. Or even the original Matrix Series. Very fun indeed.

I've never seen the animatrix but it seems you guys are getting what I personally call the "hero effect" like after watching spiderman or the x-men or even more recently heroes dreaming about having the abilities of the main characters?

I love all of the Matrix movies, and actually the Animatrix was one of my first forays into anime, but that's another story.

I'll try this tonight or sometime soon and see what happens.

A few days later....

I watched it last night and my dreams weren't totally out of place, but there did seem to be this overlying theme of "This isn't real," because I was in a game or something that wasn't real life. It didn't make me think that I was dreaming, unfortunately, but I did find it odd that I was aware that what I was doing was not in the real world.

As for the content of the dream, I don't remember all of the details, but I do recall earlier in the dream where a group of people have all been affected by something, making them/us feel united. Three girls (blonde hair, tall, thin, rational) are at the bottom of this cave which has a staircase winding up and out. There's another man trying to get what we have or at least discover what it is and he follows us, but after a while a set of (organic?) bars comes down and he is prevented from joining us.

Later on I'm in a game I think I've been in before. After reading Oneironaut's "Dream Gallery" dream about him being Kratos, I think that partly inspired at least my feelings towards what was going on. I'll spare you the details, but towards the end, I know for sure I'm in this game and have to kill someone to win, but have to go through the door multiple times until I get DCs which aren't made of stone.
