Well, going through the motions of writing with a pen/pencil seems to cement memories into one's consiousness better. However, if you write faster on the computer/laptop (like I do) here's what I'd do (and actually it is what I've been doing lately). I write down my dreams in a document, keep them in a special folder on my laptop, and then I'll go back to them at a later time (sometimes later that day, sometimes up to a week later) and re-write them in an actual journal...with a pen. This helps me a ton, and sometimes I will remember more when I'm re-writing it in my journal, even after a week or more. So, my advice is to do both. It's helped me a lot! Actually, some of the stuff that's on my computer is like a transcription from a voice memo that I've made earlier in morning with details that I don't want to forget, so really I have three dream journals; one in the form of a collection of voice memos, another on my laptop, and another in my actual dream journal...it works pretty well for me. |
