I have a question that probably sounds a bit strange... I've had a few dreams where I start flying away from Earth, though not very far. By that, I mean not even far enough to reach the moon. I always worry that I might not be able to come back, so I decide not to risk it. Has anyone here managed to go far away from Earth and lived to tell the tale?

I can never make it into space flying from the earth. Only in rockets and space ships, or going there directly. I think the problem is perspective ratios. You need something else to move relative to in order to have movement, and once you reach a certain height things get too small so that it feels like you're hardly moving at all. Creates like a mental barrier around the earth that's hard to get through.

I go to the Moon almost every night.
