      Hurt while dreaming and RL

I noticed several threads about people feeling pain left over from dreams, but has anyone ever had this?

Ever since I was really little, whenever I get hurt in a dream, I wake up with the markings of whatever injury I incurred.

For example, in one dream, I fell off of a jungle gym and someone caught me by my wrists as I hit my knees hard into the side of the gym (a ladder part).I woke up with nasty finger marks around both wrists and bar marks on both my knees. They lasted about 2-3 weeks. I woke up right after I got hurt in the dream and my hands were by my sides, and I was on my back. I did not give these injuries to myself.

Another example was a couple nights ago. I fell and hurt my ankle. When I woke up, I had a nasty bruise around the back of my left ankle and it hurt like crazy when I stepped on it. This went away yesterday.

Or a really common one I get a lot: waking up with skinned knees.

These marks happen whenever I get hurt. I’ve had marks on many different parts of my body that I can’t easily hurt (like a bruise across the middle of my back) or injuries I couldn’t commit while asleep (like a branding on my arm. It looks like someone took a hot branding iron and touched my arm or something! It’s still there several months later!)

Does anyone else have dream injuries show up in real life? Or heard about something like this?

Maybe you walk or otherwise move in your sleep and cause these injuries yourself, which are then reflected in your dreams. Wounds dont just appear from nowhere.

I know, it's weird! That's why I was wondering if anyone had heard about anything like this. No, I definitely do not walk around in my sleep and some of the injuries would be close to impossible to give myself.

One thing I’m wondering is, could it just be the power of suggestion? My dreams are very realistic. I have all 5 senses and can think straight. I usually know I’m dreaming, but that doesn’t make it any less real. When I’m dreaming, getting hurt, hurts just as much as real life. So I’m wondering if my brain is transferring the injuries to real life. Like, technically I got hurt, so my body shows it type thing. Does this sound feasible at all? I honestly have no clue why this happens. I have been trying to figure it out for awhile.

      Any suggestions/ideas greatly appreciated!

Very strange, but I'd go with Insener's theory myself.

That's soooo bizzare hmm, sleep walking can only explain so much, not sure why you get those injuries. I mean you could also hit yourself in bed which transfers into your sleep but the branding doesn't fit that

My only suggestion is going to Walmart and buying a video camera. Record your self sleeping and rewatch your self sleeping and see what happens. My best bet is to do that to see what your doing when you sleep. Thats the only way to tell. I'm not trying to sound like a smartass or anything but it could help solve your problems. Bruises just dont appear out of no where. Not trying to make it sound like your crazy or anything but they dont.
