What I'm asking here is... Is there any specific reason any of you started lucid dreaming? Not just thinking of the god powers like "OH MY GAWD I CAN DESTROY THE EARTH WITH GIANT FLAMING MUTANT CATS AND EVIL CABBAGE SPROUTS THAT LOOK LIKE CHUCK NORRIS.", but was there just one specific thing out of all the possibilities you just HAD to do when you first learned about lucid dreaming? For example, when you first started to get into LD's, were you like "YEESSSS I CAN USE LUCID DREAMS TO HAVE SEX WITH ___________!!! AWWWWWW YEEAAAAAAAA!" |

Adventure in a land that is all my own. Friends that don't even exist in other people's universe. |

Generally i got into lucid dreaming to experience stuff that is not possible or way too hard to do in waking life, as well as adventuring. |

For me it was an escape. I really got into it when my longest relationship was falling apart and I was finishing highschool. I have always had them but hadn't delved into it deeply until then. I just wanted a world where I was in control of my surroundings moreso than waking life. |

My Dream journal:The tales of a wandering soul
The reason why I became interested in lucid dreaming was the ability of telekinesis. That, and to practise skateboarding. But since I've recently had my first lucid dream I didn't get to work on these interests. What was the reason to develop an interest in lucid dreaming for you? I believe you have to have a reason why you got interested in lucid dreaming? |

Well the best reason I can think of is that before I joined this site, I came here a few times to read random dream journal entries that were lucid dreams. I've really always been fascinated with dreams ever since I was a child, and reading about other people's amazing experiences in their lucid dreams made me want to try it, especially because so many people could control the dream entirely. I found them all really interesting, so it's pretty much because of a few people on DreamViews that I started. After I had my first LD, I was really excited and kept thinking to myself things like "I was just inside my mind!" ...Things like that. |

I got into lucid dreaming because the positive effect it has on my waking reality. I now have a much more positive out look on life it seems the possibilities are endless. Lucid dreaming is not just some recreational thing I do in my slumber, it's a way of life for me. Peace. |

"when you fall unconscious, what your mind expresses is a dream.
When you are aware, what your mind expresses is creativity. It creates your life.
When you are in a higher state of consciousness, it not only creates the life of whatever you want, but also on whom ever you want". -LifeBlissFoundation
Lucid dreaming got into me at such an early age I have no idea when/why I started. |

When I was maybe 18 or 19 years old, I told my dad how much I enjoyed flying dreams, and that's when he told me that he had heard about this thing called Lucid Dreaming, and that I could learn to have more flying dreams. That was about 20 years ago. And I learned to lucid dream then from Stephen LaBerge's book and others, and loved it. |
