      Coffee helps recall?

In five days I haven't recalled a full dream, and my dreams seem MUCH shorter, and I am pretty cheesed off about it. I also haven't had coffee in five days, so I thought that they could be connected... However, I still had my normal dose of soda every day, so it must not be the caffeine.

      Can anyone relate to this?

I drank coffee this morning, lets see if I recall my dreams tonight.

Well i have always herd that coffee hurts dream recall.

But most of it is in your head. If you believe that coffee will help dream recall then do it! Everyone is differient!

Maybe you can do some sort of 30 day test (maybe 15 days with drinking coffee and 15 days without). I would like to see the resaults.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Okay. Thanks. I might do that. It's probably just a 'dry spell'.

I find that a small amount of caffeine (whatever your threshold is) seems to up my awareness in dreams. Whether I go lucid or not, they seem less passive and more detailed. Also, having to get up to pee three times during the night probably helps with recall to some extent. Caffeine early in the day, on the other hand, wears me out and I don't wind up recalling much of my night's sleep.

Ehh.. I don't think coffee affects anything. I had coffee in the past couple days and absolutely nothing changed. I'm still having horrible recall.

I've read that a small amount of caffeine in your system will help you transition from REM sleep to being awake in the middle of the night, instead of fading immediately back into the next sleep cycle. Obviously, waking up directly from a dream is the most reliable way to recall it. I think this was LaBerge in ETWOLD.
I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.
