I've been very into lding for about a month now, and at the beginning of that time, I used to do RC's and think about it all the time and actually look forward to going to bed that night. I had two ld's, each within 3 weeks of each other. |

I'm the same way. But I still write in my dream journal once in a while to remember certain dreams. I'm only doing reality checks in the morning now because I've been having a ton of false awakenings lately. Which I became lucid on one. But I'm just going to focus on awareness because I've missed become lucid in a few dreams now that were pretty obvisouly dreams. It like my subconsious is like, hello, your dreaming dummy, can't you see. But my lack of awareness in my waking life is pretty bad. Sorry can't help that much |

Hi, I was also very motivated one month ago when I had may first and only LD after having practiced RC´s and writing a dream journal. As my journal was getting too big I decided to write only LD`s and then I´m in a dry spell up to now. I thought the records I had were enough to help identify dream signs but the problem is I don´t remember to do RC´s or pay attention to dream signs whem Í´m dreaming even if I repeat aloud before sleeping or spend the day doing RC´s. I tryed vitamin B6 and choline which were completely useless but in the end my ability to remember dreams is far better. In short, the fact that you had 2 LD´s in three weeks should be taken as an achievement. Congrats. My main motivation is the thought that by practicing lucid dreaming we can improve our mental capacity, memory, attention, concentration and, I would risk to say, the ability to handle stressful situations in life. |

Well, I guess you'll lose out on lucid dreaming, which you can do anything you can imagine, literally. |

I'd suggest trying to reconnect with the reason that you first wanted to become lucid, what is it that excites you? Another thing that you could try is to keep more stats in your dream journal to let yourself see how many little steps of progress you've made, especially for those times when you feel you're getting nowhere fast with it. For example, I clearly state intentions before I sleep and record if I got any, at the moment the opening of my journal reads: |

Willpower and excitement won't last forever. You will need to develop habits to maintain your commitment for the long term. It's like learning to drive or tie your shoes. At first, it's hard and you have to be focused and careful at everything. But in time, the individual skills become automatic habits and you don't even have to concentrate or remember to do them. |

I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.
