Thread: How'd you get Lucid??

hey guys! my names Aeroproxeh im not that new to DV but i need help I i wanna know how do you guys get lucid?

Ive only gotten lucid at least 3 times while knowing about DV (40 times without DV.)

And 1 was of FILD (Finger Induced Lucid Dream) by Hagarts

How did you guys do it?

To be honest with you, it doesn't matter how other people do achieve it. You should only be doing what works for YOU and that's it. If you have a method you use on your own that works then I would suggest using that. Techniques don't work for EVERYONE, just for some who have had personal experience with the method or just naturally work for others. Hope this helps!

Well, given that I am very new to lucid dreaming (with intent, that is), and yesterday was my first and only lucid dream thus far, the most I can say is that for the past week I have thought more about dreams, focused on dreams, and it just sort of happened. I think if you want to have a lucid dream, a strong enough of a want will eventually result in one. I'm sure the techniques are excellent for those who have learned them, but for now, sheer willpower is my main technique

Also, keep a dream journal. In the first couple of days, I had already identified a dream sign. Ironically, I have yet to see this dream sign again, but it's progress nonetheless.

yes just do what works for you and i would say try them all, but the majority of my LD were from wbtb/wild. And what is GQDOIDUHILD?

I tried to WILD several times in one night and ended up having a DILD instead. It was uninteresting and I woke up the second I became lucid but hey, it's still progress.

By the way, the nose pinch RC is what triggered my lucidity. I knew it was a dream before I did the RC, but I didn't seem to have any clue what that really meant until after. Weird.

The first thing you should do is improve dream recall, you may miss some lucid dreams if you don't remember your dreams, still doing this myself. After that, I'm going to practice RC (reality check).

I've had... a few WILDs, but mostly DILDs because around the time I started taking antidepressants my SP count went down. After all, ADs are known to help get rid of SP in narcoleptics and what not.

Mostly DILD, I do ocassionally toy with the other techniques though, for the lulz.

Is it weird that when I go lucid I dont do any reaility checks I just know its a dream like just a sudden realisation. I dont go hang on something isnt right ... am I dreaming? then do reaility checks to confirm it. It is just so sudden hmmm

yea, several times I have failed WILDs and then later that night have a DILD.

I work on a very large machine where there are at least 9 computer interfaces, every once in a while it will come up with a fault message "How did I get here?" Well, I then make a story up for the poor thing. I say, well, last night you went out and got good and drunk and when you woke up, here you are. I reset the fault and restart the machine.

I started lucid dreaming before the invention of LDA (lucid dreaming acronym) revoluon, which invents more by the month. I just do it.All this bs about patting your stomach, hopping on one foot, sticking your tongue out, never really appealed to me.

thats really cool. so how long have you been LDing? also, what kind of machine says that?

I do the last machining operation on engine blocks. It has 36 stations. It hones the cylinders and micro sizes the crank bore. Tolerences are + or - 9 microns. 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 ltr engines.

Well, now, I remember you as a young lad starting out! The monastery was lit up with many candles, and all of us monks and bishops were sitting around the table listening to your lucid dreaming tales as we ate... I was only in my 40's then, so it's still fresh in my head. Good times, eh? xP

I mostly get lucid by chance or personal method. I accidentally did a FILD/WILD at the same time, but only once.

Yup.

I honestly can't explain the process of getting lucid...it comes naturally to me. I've never even had to do anything to achieve lucidity. (Does anybody else find that odd?)
I'd love to help though if I could. :/
