...........By the way that you type, I'm assuming a few things....
1) You looked at the back of your hand for a letter that was supposed to be written on it, and it wasn't....
2) You couldn't poke your finger through your hand? Or could?
3) You plugged your nose and you couldn't breathe through your nose?
#1 shoulda snapped you into lucidity, or at least wonder why there wasn't an A on your hand.
You said #2 'failed', but i think you meant it 'passed'... (Reality Check 'failing' means to 'fail' to re-assure you that you're in reality, as in, you DID put your finger through your hand, which should snap you into lucidity.)
Whether #2 and #3 passed or failed or not...... Makes sense. You're dreaming. You're testing, questionably apparently(For some reason you were doing reality checks even though you say that you were 'sure' that you were dreaming, when you totally shoulda been doing something cooler.) The point is: Makes sense. You never know what's gonna happen in a dream. Dream control isn't 100%. The only RC I ever use is the one that Emecom talks about, the 'glance at text, re-glance, re-glance' one. It's awesome.
#1 sounds like you just had a crappy lucid. meh. it happens.
The best tip I can give you: Make your reality check a clear and distinct 'wondering' of whether or not you're actually dreaming or awake, and actually try to find out. Make it count. Really find out. If you do that every time, you'll get it to happen in a dream, and bam. Lucidity. The reason the 'glance at text/numbers' RC works is because when you are asleep, info is not stored in your short-term memory the same as waking life. It's really weird but true.
