      Inception-related statement

I had a lucid dream inside a regular dream last night, and can't really tell, however
once I had a dream were I took blue "lucid pills" and had a lucid dream inside a dream, and it felt like I was in control.

However with both, the control seemed way less than in normal lucid dreams (especially WILD)

When someone has a normal dream about having a lucid dream, is he/she actually in control?
Maybe he/she is in control, but only inside the dream (so in reality, isn't). Maybe his/her minds interprets the situation in such a way that he actually is in control.

It seemed like an interesting discussion, because everyone seems to have a different view on this.
All experiences portrayed in this game are for entertainment purposes only.
In the real world refrain from using superpowers, obey the laws of physics and be sure to always wear your seatbelt.

Ive had what felt like dreams of being lucid too.
The few times that its happened ive had no control but the plot line of the dream has evolved around lucid dreaming. I guess technically if you know you're dreaming then surely its a lucid dream anyway?? but from experience theres definitely a big difference between an actual lucid dream and a dream about lucid dreaming . The main difference i think is control and self awareness. When ive dreamed about lucid dreaming i wasnt actually in control at all, the plot of the dream continues to play out and i gain nothing, it almost feels like a missed dream sign. Obviously actual lucidity brings with it atleast some awareness of the situation and control over some aspects of the dream.

I guess going by definitions some would say it counts as a lucid dream, but i dont tend to count them, not even as a very weak lucid.. they're just missed opportunitys .

once I had a dream were I took blue "lucid pills" and had a lucid dream inside a dream, and it felt like I was in control.
If 'you' gain control (and not just the dream you following the plot) id say it was a lucid, even if at the time you thought you were lucid because you took the dream pills.

Exactly as Inphinity said. It's all the same dream and it's as clear cut as this: if you realise you're dreaming, you're lucid. If you're having a dream about your intention to have a lucid dream, but you don't actually realise you're dreaming, you're not lucid.
