      Annoying Dream...

I had a dream last night, and in that dream - I said to myself, hmmm if that were there then I would be dreaming, so it can't be. But I didn't think to do a reality check, nor did I become lucid. Why is my dream self so dense?? Or rather, how can I improve my level of control, and clarity?
      just lol...

Yeah rationalization can be difficult. I get the impression all too often that my dream self is a dumbass. It happens to me a lot - dreamsigns blatantly appear and I still don't realize it's a dream. I suggest writing down your dreamsigns and doing mantras that mention dreamsigns, such as "I will recognize dreamsigns when I dream and go lucid", before you sleep. You'll get more familiar with dreamsigns as you accumulate dreams in your journal, and you'll be more likely to recognize them and do RC's in their presence.

Don't feel too stupid. When I was driving a school bus in 3rd person and jumping a volcano after getting blown up and respawning twice, I didn't realize i was dreaming.

the only things i can think of that will improve things for your dream self would be going over dream signs in your dream journal daily and then doing reality checks when reminded of those instances in the day. Also visualize you're dreamsigns before you go to sleep and tell yourself you will recognize your dreamsign(s) and the fact that you are dreaming. thats all i got. good luck!
