Help-- over two months of trying and i still haven't had my first lucid dream!?

I have been keeping a dream journal for a little over two months with around 3-4 dreams a night and 1-2 of those are usually good long dreams. my dreams are pretty vivid. I do reality checks endlessly and i do them whenever something strange or unusual happens too. I have logged a ton of dreams and i even have a bunch of dream signs. Even my girlfriend shows up in nearly all my dreams, so i do reality checks when i see her. I have tried WILD 2-3 times and i tried WBTB about 15 times and i am always practicing MILD and yet still no lucid dream!? I even tried FILD.. I re-read my dreams and i am even reading 2 books on lucid dreams (Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreams and Lucid Dreams: Gateway To The Inner Self).

So i was wondering is this normal? I thought most lucid dreamers have their first LD in like 2-3 weeks... Is 2 months and still no first lucid dream normal?
Also do you guys have any tips or ideas to help me have my first lucid dream soon?
I am okay with waiting- i am patient- but i am afraid i am doing something wrong.
      Thanks guys!

Not so you will loose all motivation, I had my first about 3 weeks after I started. So it can really happen at any time. Hang in there

Do not try classic WILD for now, but FILD or similar techs are fine. Try to awaken without moving, then try to do FILD or try to feel your mobile phone (for example). As soon as you feel it like real thing, stood up and make reality check.

As for WBTB: How much sleep do you have? When do you do WBTB and how big it is? Have you tried LDS? For example, you may try to drink a small cup of coffee during WBTB to boost your alertness.

Do not overdo reality checks. Doing a lot of RCs is not really effective.

In my opinion lack of LD during two month means that you do something wrong.

      Have you tried MILDing?

That induced my first intentional lucid dream, and it has a high success rate for most people.

Grats My recall has been poor as of late
I get a lot of lucids, but they aren't very good, I want a real good, vivid one

People who have poor dream recall: Mine improves 10-fold if i:
      1) minimize time spent on computer/tv
      2) get a decent amount of sleep
      3) eat healthier/drink plenty of water etc.

Just some advice, may or may not help you, but works for me
      just lol...

I can't speak for your personality or what you're trying to achieve, but my advice would be to stop concentrating so hard on actually trying to get lucid, and just enjoy your dreams. For me at least, I think part of becoming lucid is loving your dreams no matter what they bring you and loving spending time in that space. The dream state is a very unique world and it takes time to become adapted to the strange things that happen and the odd states of mind you get in. The more you just sit back, relax and observe the things that go on over time, the better you'll get at analyzing, the more conciously aware you'll become and the longer you'll be able to maintain stability in a dream. It's like you're trying to jump from A to Z while missing out all of the other letters. I've been practicing lucid dreaming on and off for over half a decade and not once have I tried any of these WILD or MILD techniques through active research (now might be a good time to start though!), I've just spent the time dreaming and finding my own methods that work for me.

I'd suggest you carry on with your dream journal and reality checks, maybe even continue to read a few books; but cut back on trying advanced techniques and just relax about it. Just take things slowly...

Yeah it's normal, the variation of times someone could get their first lucid seems to be very great. I couldn't find the RC tutorial I got this from (or I'd give you the link) but just try being more aware of your surroundings where you were, where you have been etc.
"For a long time it gave me nightmares, having to witness an injustice like that. It was a constant reminder of how unfair this world can be, I can still hear them taunting him. 'Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!'... How come they just couldn't give him some cereal?"

Something I discovered only recently... Patience is key.. You can't just jump right to it.. Try following this guide very very closely..
      Goals:
Consistently for two weeks recall at least one dream per night [ ]
