Ok so last night I had a dream that I was no part of.

I wasnt a character, I wasnt someone else in it, it was literally like watching a TV show.

I just wasnt involved in it at all, merely an invisible observed, but not even that because I wasnt there observing it, it was kind of like watching a dreamTV...

anyone else experience this?

Yes. The funny thing is, I had full dream control.

In dreams, possibilities are only bound by your imagination.

I have those kinds of dreams a lot. It's so weird...

ive had many dreams were i just feel like im watching the dream instead of participating in it

Never recalled a dream like that.

Yes, I have had dreams where I, myself, am not a participant. Normally I'll play some role, at least for a short time, and then the dream goes to what I call "camera mode". For me, it's just like my stories, where every character is actually some part of me and shows some side of me (even if I don't acknowledge it), but I myself am not a participant.

I often have a similar experience. I am in a dream, but at the same time I am watching a scene. It usually involves a few people talking or doing something - it's quite odd. It feels like watching TV or virtual reality within a dream.

I have dreams like that all the time. Often I'll jump back and forth between observer and participant.

Im glad i found this site, i was looking for people who have had this "T.V"
dream experience, The first time i had a dream like this i felt an odd sensation/feeling in my brain when i had it. It's different then any other kind of dream.
I have had dreams of watching t.v before but this is different.
sometimes the speech is in other languages,and there is even a music score and camera views, I am into making short films and film/edit plus act, so i can see how a person might think my mind is geared in that direction so i might have a dream like that. The only reason i would say No is because the feeling i have when i am viewing/experiencing the dream is so seperate and alien from me. This is going to sound really crazy but it seems as if i am actually picking up television from another dimension. I'm not saying it's that, im saying that what it feels like.

You're definitely not alone, yesterday morning I had an incredibly rich dream in which I was just an omniscient observer. They're a minority, but I still get them quite oftenly, I'd say one out of 20 dreams.
