      What should I do?

I have been trying to have lucid dreams for the last 2 months now, with absolutely 0 success. I have tried a few different methods, WILD, DILD, and a brainwave syncronizer (an app on the iPhone that claims to be able to put you in different kinds of sleep. At different times, I have been obsessed and oblivious to lucid dreams, and still nothing. What do I need to do?

Well you need to learn about RC (reality checks), and have a dream journal. I think that's a good way to start off. But from what you have wrote I think you will have to read some more tutorials. There's some really great ones around here, I've learned so many things from this site, and I just joined maybe 2 days ago I think.

Oh yes, I actually used to have an "A" on my hand that I RC'ed every time I saw it. Now I have a die that I keep in my pocket for the same reason. I do keep a dream journal, and my dream recall is usually near perfect. I have read most of the tutorials on this site, but still nothing.

Have you tried taking naps? You are sleeping but you know you should be awake.
Disrupt your sleep schedule, same sort of idea.
Or a combo, get way too little sleep then take a nap during the day.

Throughout the day be aware of your surroundings and ask yourself questions like "How did I get here?" or "Why am I doing this?" I've found that something that helps me is after writing in your dream journal, point out all of the obvious dream signs, and tell yourself the next time you see any of those dream signs you will become lucid.

Well, I am trying to do an RC whenever I can. I have a regular sleep schedule, but I am still always overtired. I guess I will start taking naps more often and see where that takes me.

I was over tired too then I cut my sleep hours back from 8 to 7 and I am more awake than ever. I study every day and HAVE to be as awake as possible.

So you got less sleep, but you are less tired? I get how that works for instead of 11 hours you get 8, but really?

I'm not sure why getting too much sleep makes me more tired but I get how a person has a best number of hours they should sleep. Experiment, it wont take long before you find your optimal sleep length.

Ok, last night I had my first lucid dream in years! SuicideKing sent me a message about a "Have a lucid dream in one night" method. It worked! It is pretty much just while falling asleep keep thinking over and over "I will have a lucid dream" you don't do anything else, just keep doing that and you will eventually fall asleep knowing it is a dream. I remember the dream actually starting, and when it did I heard a voice say "You are dreaming", I didn't even do a reality check, I just went on controlling my dream.

Good luck. And the odd thing is though, in total I got like 4 hours of sleep last night, but when I woke up I was completely rested. My mind was working harder and I got very little sleep, yet I didn't need to sleep anymore. How bizarre.

Some time ago I had troubles with my sleep, so I went to see the doctor about it. She told me that it's better to sleep less than you are supposed to, because if you oversleep the time your cycle ends it will start over. For example, if you are supposed to sleep 6 hours, but you sleep 7, it will count as if you slept only one hour. I'm not saying that I entirely agree with that, but that's what I've heard quite a few times. But I do feel better if I sleep less.

      MIIISTERNEUGIT, congrats

I'm gonna try this. We can all use good hints like this, thanks.

      Just had that happen today.

Makes some kind of sense but it works like that for sure.

Yea, it worked perfectly the very first night. It didn't work last night though, but my mind kept getting horribly distracted. Don't think of a single thing then "I will have a lucid dream", over and over again. Like don't do anything else, just keep thinking it even if you feel you will be asleep in half a second. The point is to be in the middle of thinking it when you enter sleep, then it will continue during the start of your dream.

      Good luck!

Ah, that works for you? Then I would recomend using incubation, since MILD works. You could even plan the dream beforehand and then just go to sleep and have fun.
