      Are your dreams in color?

I think it's just a rumor that only girls have dreams in color, and guys have black-and-white dreams.

      But I wouldn't know, because I'm not both. ...

So guys: do you have dreams in color, b & w, or both?

I just have dreams in color.

Oh yes. I remember the first dream I had in which it was obvious that I could dream in color. I dreamt that my Irish girlfriend looked at me with her deep emerald GREEN eyes.

Carl Jung, the great pioneer in metaphysical psychologoy, had said that vibrancy of color in dreams was an indication of the proportionate importance of the dream. Where ordinary dreams can get by being somewhat lackluster, the 'Big Dreams' as he called them would always have an element of color.

I remember one of my most important dreams -- in which the fabric of Space tore open a mere 20 or so feet in front of me and the White Light poured out upon me... well, it was preceeded by the air around me shimmering in waves and turning a somewhat Pinkist-Violet kind of translucent color.

In one of my first Lucid Dreams I found myself on top a Mountain -- the gravel at my feet was brown, and the hills in the distance were green. The sky was blue. In another Lucid Dream I had I was startled to see an old Pepsi Bottle Cap laying on the ground. I wondered that my Dream Mind would go through all the trouble to create a faded old bottle cap -- the blues and reds were somewhat faded, but in the context of the Lucid Dream it held a kind of gem like fascination.

I'm a guy and I'm quite sure that I dream in color. I remember colors in a couple dreams last night that I had quite well. I remember dominant colors such as Green, Grey, Beige, Red, white and orange.

It was the most rambling and discursive a person could be in just two sentenses, but still the point was made that it was thought with some absolute parental authority that NOBODY DREAMED IN COLOR. I decided not to respond to the newsy family gossip of how many on each side of the family, and of what sex, were color blind or in other ways challenged. I decided to confine myself to astoundingly inaccurate assertion that NOBODY DREAMS IN COLOR.

uh? Did you actually say anything in that post? How about breaking it down into laymen terms instead of hiding behind those big words which only aid in taking up space. Sorry but I have zero tolerance for pricks.

We have Power, Money, Force and Influence wedded to surface good looks mixed with perhaps some complacent charm -- and that is what goes for Good Breeding. Then we have the almost arbirtrary pairings which make up the greater part of the population.

So, yes, the biggest surprise of all is that anybody is evolved. I know that it is not entirely politically correct to suggest that some people are better than others, but the last time I checked they were still administering Competitive Tests for Universities and Career positions. So it is an unfortunate fact of life that people can be and are sorted by their Abilities.

So when somebody comes up and says that they do not dream in color and that their mother told them that nobody dreams in color, I can only suspect a Branch on the Great Human Tree that does not quite catch as much light as the rest.

I actually made a thread on this question about 2 months ago (except I used the correct spelling for the word colour

      http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic....2677&highlight=

All of my dreams are in colour, however I do remember one that was black and white, it was kind of like being in a black and white movie actually (i.e. playing a role in one)

      Eh? http://www.census.gov/main/www/popclock.html

Closer to 6.5 billion, and would you have a focused breeding program in place? You crazy eugenecist (sp?).

Naturally there would be some people with biological advantages over others, but to the degree of higher dreaming of psionic powers, I don't know. Could equally be due to environmental conditions or radiation exposure

In my opinion it comes down to what you believe. If you believe what you parents/friends/etc tell you about not being able to dream in color then you cant. If you dont believe them then you can. Simple as that.

All my dreams have been in color.

      Oh, good!

But Mom may have intuited a good point, even if she were wrong in being quite too absolute in her expression of it. many ordinary dreams probably are in Black and White... or rather they are projected in Night Vision. You know what they say, "All Cats are Grey in the dark"... whatever the popular meaning of that phrase, it does express a literal truth, that when the quantity of light dips below a certain register, then our night vision kicks in which does not perceive so much in color, but in shaes of grey.

But that is the physical eyes. Yet we may suppose that the use of Color in our Dreams creates something of an Energy or Chemical expense to our mental resources. As a measure of energy conservation, some dreams may be in shades of grey.

Now, as for the people who say they do not remember any dreams but those that are in color. We can take that to mean that when the intensity of their dreams is beneath a certain threshold, they simply do not recall them. It is not that they do not dream in black and white, but only that they have no memory of these dreams. Yet, their baseline energy levels may be high enough where every dream is relatively intense. But, still, in a World where the question has so often come up -- are dreams always in just Black and White -- we must suppose that many dreams are in fact just in black and white.

The majority of my dreams appear to have a certain overcast to them (usually brown, red, blue), though, which often serves to enhance whatever mood I am feeling.

I remember having at least one dream where some (not all) of it was in black and white. To me, it all depends on what your subconscious wants you to see. When you're lucid, you see what you want to see, which is usually familiar colors, though sometimes they're off.

That's just my take on it.

The American's spell colour c-o-l-o-r, but the English spell color c-o-l-o-u-r.

Both are correct, depending upon which side of the atlantic checks your spelling. But any American conversant in the finest English Literature should have no complaint. In fact, no educated person should ever suggest that c-o-l-o-u-r is a misspelling. What!? have they never read Jane Austen, Hardy, or Emily Bronte?

I know how you feel. I may be in the US, but sometimes I will spell color as colour, or armor as armour. It is all the same, one is just an older form, and maybe even a little more formal than the other.

Oh, yes, and I went back and checked the 'colour' person's 'flag' -- it was Australian where the Queen's English is respected and c-o-l-o-u-r is not only perfectly correct, but is also the preferred spelling.

One must wonder how the Amercan's took up spelling the word wrong in the first place.

Probably because we Americans are all the rejects from Britain.

Anyway, I do dream in colour.
