I met my husband in a dream?

I had a dream last week, where I met my husband. Well thats what I said when I woke up. I was so sure of it.
I dont ever see faces in a dream or remember names.
I this dream I both happened.

My best friend introduced me to 2 guys both were new friends, 1 I knew right away was my husband. We were outside in the summer at a high golden wood table.
The dream continued where "my husband" came up behind me while I was standing at the table texting, put his arms around me and hugged me and just stood there behind me with his arms around me, like we had been together for years. In the dream I had known him for all of 5 minutes, but for some reason we both just knew. Thats where the dream ended.

I have never met either of these guys before and neither has my best friend.
I am not currently dating anyone, have never been married.

As I said, I never remember faces and I could tell you each detail about this mans face. His eye colour, hair style, eye shape, lips, and jaw shape. I could draw you a picture it seems to be so stuck in my head. I have not had the dream since but he keeps flashing into my head during the day when I am not thinking about anything that would have to do with this dream. Like I should know what he looks like.

Does this mean something? or is this just my mind making up my perfect man?

Well, to tell you the truth, on this forum you are going to get those saying that it is some prediction or sign that you should follow, and then there are others who will say it is a dream where your mind comes up with crazy things and that is all.

I stick closely to the "it's just a dream" stance and would probably say that it could indeed be a projection of what you want your perfect man to be, or perhaps just a strong desire that transfered to your dream (Feeling lonely recently? Stuff like that). You might remember the face etc. so clearly because of the impression it left with you. When tragedy, great sorrow, great joy, etc. etc. happens in real life, it makes it easy to remember. Same can happen with dreams I would assume.

It does sound like a very interesting occurrence. I wouldn't put too much meaning behind it, but I wouldn't just throw it out the window either.

But as a heads up, this is just all based on opinion as not only are dreams sketchy around the borders in the first place when coming to research and meaning, but I have done little research in the first place on this particular kind of thing.

By the way, welcome to the forums.

More likely it's your mind making up your perfect man, but maybe you might see someone who looks like that in the near future. Maybe someone can interpret this dream or something.

I would suggest that if you can sketch or paint a picture of this man that you do so. That way you can have it around as evidence in case the dream turns out to be prophetic. It wouldn't hurt, anyway.

I've had a similar experience, the feeling from the dream carried over into waking life and is much stronger than most if not any other feelings I've had whether in a dream or real life. It's still just that though - a feeling. My rational side leans more towards dismissing it as just another dream but the emotional aspect is incredibly strong and hard to deny. Intuition can be a crazy thing..
With things like this I'd recommend to neither accept nor deny your experience and continue living life; if the dream was truly a precursor to or a future-memory of meeting your husband then it makes sense that you will be led to him whether or not you're actively looking Whether you believe miracles are simply extraordinary coincidence or truly otherworldly the fact remains that crazier things happen in people's lives on a daily basis.

Thank you for your kinda words and welcomes

I think I have too agree with weight and insane kid on this, I have had it on my mind since I posted this last night and I feel as though if I was to accept it as he is real, it would be like chasing something/someone near to impossible to prove or find. But if I deny it I am closing myself off to the importance a dream can hold.

I thank you all for your responses it is very interesting to get other peoples opinion on this.
My dreams are never close to reality enough to think that they could actually happen lol.
I guess maybe this is why this one stands out more. It almost doesnt seem like my dream because it is so far from my regular kind of dreaming. Which of corse would bring up a whole other question.
Could it have been someone else's dream that I was apart of...... a complete strangers?
Has anyone ever had that experience?

Wow...typed out a decent reply and the forum erased it all saying I can't post because I'm new and had a link in my post. Wow...just wow.

Anyway, I tried posting a link to my first post on the forums which you can find at ~/f20/my-experience-thusfar-109376/ (the ~ standing in for dreamviews.com)
I wish I had written down my dream after having it so as to recall finer details but to this day the feeling of connection I had with "her" remains, stronger than any connection I've had with anyone else. I've experienced her presence in my dreams with varying degrees of lucidity 2 or 3 other times in my life and though I don't recall much if anything about those dreams detail-wise the positive impact from that connection remains today.

I have all sorts of theories for who she might be, both rational and irrational. I certainly hope it was indeed a shared experience or that I may someday meet her in real life, but that remains to be seen. But even if it is all "just a dream", it's good to know that I'll at least always have just that - my dreams. Whether she's a projection of my subconscious or the foreordained babe of my dreams I still cherish the experience for the positive impact it's had and the potential for more positive experiences. A lot of the debate these days seems to be focused around how we should interpret our dream experiences, mostly arguments coming from a scientific standpoint or a metaphysical/religious one. To me this is missing the point entirely. We in waking life can never truly grasp the dream state and therefore any interpretations of it are bound to be flawed on some level or miss the boat altogether. You don't learn from trying to put a label on the experience after the fact, it's all in the actual experiencing of it that we gain the most.

Wow... What an excellent post. To me that is the most correct explanation I have ever heard. Bravo.

It could be a perfect man dream, but I had a similar dream, but where I liked a girl i had met when i was 14, i was 12 at the time, and thought the girl was just my ideal girl, then in secondary when I was 14 I met her, she was in my form, and on a trip she wore the same outfit as in my dream, I didn't even realise until I saw they had the same eyes, then it just clicked, the two (one?) girl(s?) had the same opinion of me, not good, and asking each one out got the same answer.

I thought all dream characters were people you've seen (and maybe not remember) in your life? I mean, the person that tried to kill me yesterday (dream) could be the person that sold me a sandwich at a restaurant when I was five (real life)

If you want to know what it means, then you have to enter the lucid dream with a very specific question. I give a few examples in my Language and Experience.

Yeah I'm not into the whole "Sign" thing either. Last I recall the people we see in dreams are people we've seen before. On the street, In a store, etc. So I mean it could be someone you've seen before that you were very much were attracted to. Could of been someone you just caught a glimpse of. Then there's coincidence; could of been a man you saw outside somewhere. That you could in fact meet someday and marry.

Well yes, they can be people from real life, but they can also very easily be characters your mind makes up.
