      Transitioning into a Lucid Dream

I'm interested in practicing LD's and eventually perfecting them- but there's a few questions that's still in my head that I can't seem to find the answer to, one of them being the transition into a dream.

When doing any kind of technique to induce a lucid dream, do you just "appear" in the dream? How do you know and what does it feel like when you've finally slipped into the dream world? How do you "see" theoretically lol. And I've read that lucid dreams and REM dreams are usually so vivid and so real that it comes very close to resemble reality- hence the reality checks. Does this mean that when you're in a lucid dream that everything around you is in color and that you all your 5 senses work? I'm not sure if I worded that question right. In other words, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being 99% like reality, how real is a lucid dream?

Dreams are another vehicle of consciousness. Your experience with in the astral dreamscape is what makes it 100 percent real. If your being chase down by a lion in a subconscious dream would you not have the same level of fear as if it were happening in waking physical life. Think of dreams as reality 2.0 where rules like gravity are optional and where there are no limits to what u can do or learn. Gd luck in your pursuit of lucid dreaming. It can be a very rewarding experience. Namaste.:-D

Thanks for the reply I understand that you can feel emotion in your dream, but what about physical things?

i have experienced heightened vision like 3rd person perception I have heard people speak but telepathy seems to be the choice of communication in my lucid and not lucid dreams. I have also had some sensations of touch. I have moved soda cans with my mind so I imagine taste does exist on the astral dream plane if that's what u need to happen. I'm sure that's just a small fraction of what senses are available to you but I can only speak on what I have witnessed in a very personal way

I have had lucid dreams that were 120% reality, seeing into the substance of material objects in a way that cannot be done while awake. I have also had lucid dreams where the clarity of the physical world was less than 100%. As far as myself and my senses go, I feel in a lucid dream just like I do when I am awake.

Pretty crazy... hopefully I can experience a realistic "waking-life" dream soon. I've had only one as far as I can remember, but it was when I was a small kid. Everything seemed so real, my vision was crystal clear and I could hear and smell and touch everything. I wasn't lucid, but I still woke up for some reason, dream only lasted like 10 seconds. I still remember the reaction I got when I woke up, I just layed on my bed thinking to myself... WTF.
