How long until highly noticable changes in dream re-call with a journal?

I've started writing a dream journal on the DJ part of the site. I'm okay if it takes one or two months for a great difference, but if it takes 6 months or a year, that's a huge bummer.

Anyone know how long it should take to remember many every night?

I see improvement after a week of writing down dreams. for some it takes longer. others, shorter.

there is not set time period where everything happens to all people. just keep writing down your dreams.

I think a lot of it has to do with how important it is to you. I went through a period of time where I was crazy about dreams, and I'd wake up during the night to write them down and be thinking about them before I went to bed.. during those times I had the best dream recall. I started keeping a journal years ago on my computer but if you stick with it, it only gets better.

Try not to get discouraged if you can't remember much or any of your dream, just try to jog your memory. Even if you can only remember the very last thing that happened in your dream, just spend some time when you first wake up and concentrate on that, try to visualize it, and a lot of times you can backtrack and fill in the details. I notice improvement in weeks when I put thought and time into it.

For example, two weeks ago I was remembering one fragment every other night because I was just out of the habit. This week I've been remembering something every night, and either one with decent detail or 2-3 fragments every other night.

It takes like 2 nights for me, look at my dream journal and you can see how much more vivid my dreams have become. Even when I smoke before bed now I can remember 2 dreams
Also please try ADA it works wonders with vividness and dream recall, I used both and it's really fun to record those kind of vivid dreams
