      Weird Lucid False Awakening

Last night I did a WBTB at 4:00, I woke from my alarm and could remember 3 dreams, I felt pretty confident about me having a lucid and stayed up 20 minutes before going to bed. At some point in the night I had a false awakening, at first I thought I'd woken from a dream and was lying in my bed, but then I realised a number of things were wrong with my room. I also became aware of a creeping dread, an impending doom, and the sense that something terrible was attempting to enter my home. I did a nose-pinch reality check, and became lucid. But I couldn't move! I was stuck in my bed in the darkness, I said in my mind 'Take me to a safer place!' but nothing happened, I panicked and woke up for real (making sure I did multiple RCs).

Has anyone else had experience of this?

Yes, I've had a similar experience with a false awakening. I "woke up" in the middle of the night and did an RC, but was like everything was moving in slow-motion and I could barely move. I experienced a kind of dread maybe similar to you. I think the problem here is that although we both knew we were in a dream, neither of us garnered the level of awareness necessary to become fully lucid. So instead of breaking free from this panic, our minds played along with what was happening... exactly like in a regular dream.
These types of experiences happen from time to time for me at least.

Sounds like SP leaked into your dream. The feeling of dread, or someone in the room, and difficulty moving are both traits of SP. That sounds pretty weird though.

At least I had awareness of SP and knew I was dreaming that time. It's happened to me before I learnt about sleep paralysis and it was truly terrifying. Being stuck in your bed, crying for help with no voice isn't fun.
