      Unhappy lucids memory

I'm not saying that i don't try to do interesting things with my lucids but when I remember them i don't feel like it was real. That's the way all my dreams feel. They feel like something i made up in my head than something that actually happened to me. SO, the question i have for you lovely people is does it get better or will it stay like this forever.
I'd rather not have a signature, thanks.

I've heard a lot of stories about how monumental people's first lucid dreams are -- mostly when people are explaining the concept of lucid dreams to people who haven't heard of them before. Like Stephen Laberge has related instances of people's first lucid dreams, people who felt like they had never been awake until their first lucid dreams, people who felt like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, stepping into technicolour etc. That all sounds very grand and I'm sure it is that way for some but I think that's extreme.
For me, it's a practiced skill as much as anything else. It's like learning the violin. At first I was crap and then I got better, but even now that I'm "good" I only get glimpses of it's true magic now and then. Even when I have it, I don't alway "feel" it, if that makes any sense. I still have a lot of improving to do with LDs and it has been slow but I'm dedicated again and seeing results.
Also, if you anticipate your LDs to feel real and magical, they are more likely to be so.

Well the one nice thing to know is that all dream experiences are real. Over time as you continue to practice your memory of these experiences will improve and they will rest in your mind as true memories like those in your waking life.

Thank you. I honestly thought that i might just be really bad at this but know i know i can do it if i can try. My lucid's do feel more real than dreams and now that i have a dream journal i think my recall will get better. Hopefully i might be able to actually do something.

      Yes. Dream journals do help.

As for your question. My first ld's felt increadibly real. But I don't think that this is the case for everyone.

But I know that if you keep at it you will have one of those awesome experients in real life.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

I also feel that my first lucid was incredibly real. Like mentioned above, I didn't feel 'awake' until I was lucid. Now I walk around in 'waking life' feeling that I'm dreaming.

Well that's a little strange. Can you breathe while holding your nose IRL? lol...
