Visualizations and Mantras are the most successful/popular. Not sure if there are any out of the ordinary methods in trying to incubate a dream idea.

There was a thread I recently responded to where the guy would make a book full of stuff, images and text and what not of the place he wanted to visit. Visualizing places every day and especially before bed is very effective if you want to dream about a particular thing.

I would also be interested in dream incubation. It never seems to work for me though

Maybe you can try to do a MILD/WBTB and visualize the dream.

What works for me is watching something that's really impressing. Youtube seems to be an excellent source of inspirational videos. Depends on what you wanna dream about, find a video about that and don't be affraid to go "oooh" and "aaah" and say "I'm there". Then think about it and visualize as falling asleep.

There may be a day or two delay between the video and your dream, but most of the time it's the same night.

If it doesn't work at first, keep trying and have positive thoughts. Be excited and happy about your dream. It didn't work for me at first either, untill one day it did, and it's working since then, most of the time.

I am pretty sure that you can incubate anything you want to. I have never done it but by judging from what others have posted in the forums they have incubated a wide variety of things.

I incubate off of previous dreams. Keeping a DJ and marking what dreams you really enjoyed is goo.d

Aha, you are asking what cool dream to incubate, not how?

In that case, if you have any fantasy, that would be it. For me, it's a beautifull beach and diving in tropical seas. So I watch a video of tropical beaches.

Just keep in mind, that biggest success with incubating is when you incubate a place that is very, very familiar to you. Place, you spent a lot's of time in, you know how it feels, smells. which way the sun shines in the morning - like your childhood bedroom or something similar. Once you there in a lucid, you can change the dreamscape to something else.
