      Lucid dream logic problems?

Lately I have been having some unusual problems in my lucid dreams. I have been having some messed up logic. Although I know I am dreaming, some real world logic is still there. I think that I can get in trouble or I can't do things. For instance I will be trying to get with girls they will say we can get in trouble and I will totally believe it. This hasn't always been the case and I am looking for a good way to end this. I already do my reality checks and know I'm dreaming but the logic is messed up. I would greatly appreciate the help.

Once in a lucid, I wanted to teleport. I was inside a building but instead of just opening a door and expecting the location to be on the other side, I went outside and tried to walk halfway around the world (even then, I could've flown!), and when I ended up at the location I wanted in a matter of seconds, I assumed that was "normal". It happens.

I'm sure it stems from the fact that (unfortunately) awareness and logic are different things, which can sometimes be evident when you become lucid.

How are you going about your LDs? If you're using WBTB, try doing some logic problems - simple math such as 5 + 10, etc. Look around and tell yourself, in detail, why you aren't dreaming at the moment, and what the area would be like if you were. For instance, "I'm not dreaming because the lights are working (make sure you turn them on and off to make sure), and I have the proper amount of fingers. If I weren't dreaming, the lights would probably be dimmer than normal or not work, and I'd probably have more or less fingers. I also wouldn't be this attentive to detail."

If you don't happen to use WBTB, you can still just incorporate the above into your normal reality checks and such!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Will supply an extract from a dream Alan Worsley had when they were testing bodily reactions to movements produced in dreams. The experiment was to assess if it would register in his finger muscles if he drew triangles in his dream.

I searched for something to draw triangles on. There were several pieces of paper but most of them looked too small and had things written on them. I shouldn't use them, I thought, in case they were somebody's valuable notes.

He notes himself that he may not have been completely lucid, as he perceived the notes as real and valuable to someone.

Between the third and fourth - or maybe the fourth and fifth - I ran out of space on the blackboard and moved across the corner of the room to another blackboard.

Worsley in this case is both participating and controling the experiment as he and his colleagues have pre-planned the activity of the dream (and he is also authoring the chapter). He knows it doesn't matter if he overwrites one of the triangles he has already, because the machinery he is attached to (EMG) will meassure his movements regardless, which is the aim of the experiment. Just examples of how he has access to waking logic and intentions of the experiment, but still also respond to the dream environment.

For me it happens in a paradoxial way as well. Had one lucid where I had to get clearance from a council to go above a certain height (which meant I could get above the water surface) I knew I was lucid and could breathe under water and I found it extremely irritating that I knew there was no way I shouldn't be able to move further up. However just couldn't.

These logical problems vary a great deal though, sometimes they are there sometimes they aren't and sometimes they fade during the entirety of the dream.

I suppose the main way to rid yourself of them would be to just keep practising and grow confidence in your omnipotence during dreams ^^. Another example is how I progressed from being able to fly, fly through glass without breaking it, and after a long time struggling finaly being able to fly through non-transparrent objects like doors or even walls or entire buildings.
So fly with me, Theres a whole sky to see, I am taking your mind with me, into Lucidity, flying in unity could be normality, what you perceive to be is your reality – Dub FX

Wow guys, thank you very much for the useful responses. Puffin, I have been trying to DILD because many other methods have not been working out all that great for me /: but I will try to take your advise. And vestergaurd, thank you for the long helpful post. I guess your right and experience will hopefully fix my problems.
