1. There is no fastest. It's all individual. I'm sure you don't like the answer but that's the way it is. The fastest way is to believe in yourself 100% and get alot of sleep. WBTB's seems to be effective for me.
2. Get up after 4½-6 hours of sleep. Stay up for 20-40 ish minutes and go back to bed with firm intentions of getting lucid.
3. I doubt it. It would probably disturb your sleep.
This isn't a hobby for the impatient. You have to accept the fact that it takes a while to learn. The first one might get you hooked though
