      Possible Dream Guide?

Most of my DC's are quite unresponsive, dull, and never utter a single word. I very rarely have any DC's that even spare the time to respond to me, or try to talk to me.

Last February, I had a very vivid lucid dream. There was this elder lady who introduced herself as a distant aunt. I think her name was "Avana" something close to it at least. She was very well aware that it was all a lucid dream. She reserved a place for me and my brothers to stay as we were lucid dreaming, she said she had even decorated it herself. I wasn't aware of the fact that my brothers were just my projections of them though. During that dream that skipped around to feel like days, I tried to fly, and failed, but she grabbed my hands as she flew and said "I'll help you". Another reason, we were trying to fix a puzzle, wherein I have to trick a young girl in a room, by wearing a disguise. Avana(?), gave me a fake beard to wear, though it looked very fake, I told her that I didn't think the girl would believe it. She then began to say "Most DC's will be dumb enough to believe it".... But still she said she was an aunt, and she was also despairing about a loss. Do you guys think she could possibly be my Dream Guide?

From what I've heard, your dream guide can be whoever you want it to be. This character certainly has many characteristics of a guide (developed personality, not completely senseless, knowledgeable of the dream, helpful, etc).
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

Yeah, your dream guide can be whomever/whatever you want, its a DG as long as it aids you in the dream/awareness/personal reflection/etc. in some way.

Lucid Dream goals: (O=done, could be better. X=done.)» (Fly -X)» (Talk to my DC friend - ) (Have a WILD - ) (Have sex - ) (Meet my DG - ) (Go through a wall or window -X) (Go to space - ) (Go to Pandora - ) (Conjure things -O ) (Complete a task of the month - )

I spent a while playing with the concept of a dream guide, I found them to be hollow DC's that are only as good as I want them to be. The DG idea is cute but it doesn't enhance your dreams in anyway because as far as I've seen its just another DC manifestation, but with a fancy name.

Dream guides are always present with u and only reveal themselves when u throw out a command telling them to reveal themselves. Most times they remain quiet watching your progress. When I asked my guide to reveal them selves a twitter screen text box popped up in which my guide said hi and told me they were there for me when I need them. Ofcourse I was flying at the time so a thought bubble was probably the best way to get through to me. Lol.

I don't think that's entirely true... I think Loaf's point makes a bit more sense.

It's all about expectations. If you expect an awesome ever-watchful DG, you'll get one. If not, you won't.

That's why I gave my personal experience with guides and verbal commands has worked for me, wether my experience resonates with u or not does not make it invalid or valid. It's just me sharing what I have gone through personally and the reader seeing if it works for them also.

      Thank you to everyone ^^
Now the next step is for me to remember to try to look for my DG next time I'm lucid.. . I'll probably try to summon her, and ask her Anthonyyy0, I'm practicing with summoning dc's and so far, I've done it without fail, hopefully she'll show up.

I agree with kookyinc in a way.
Anything within your dream, relies on your head, if you believe, it will happen, and if you don't, then it simply would not. Same with the Dream Guides, if you believe them, one will be there somewhere in the recesses in your dreams, if you simply don't, then one does not have to materialize.

I think that's one of the rules everybody should keep in mind, if believing isn't strong enough, you have to be confident to know that whatever it is, will happen. At least that's the rule I've set for myself when Lucid

Get your dream guide to give you more. Dream guides are spirits didn't you say, surely getting he / she to make you aware while in the dreamworld wouldn't take any effort at all.

the nearest thing to a dream guide was srila prabhupada who seemed to enter from the astral plane and told me to concentrate more on control and less on showing off skills (I was at a dbz style tournament)

I think I came apon a possible dream guide. Last time I became lucid i walked up to my dad and he asked me to go somewhere with him, I aske dif my dream guide was there and he said yes. Dad and i then appeared next to a big brown tree with red leaves. And under it was sitting a guy with big bushy brown hair and a long white beard. SOmething about him screamed out DG. Then I entered a non lucid that told me about the importance of not over induldging.

I was thinking about meeting my dream guide before i started the dream.

      It's been two months. . . . Muwahahha!

So many attempts to get to WILD this morning, and I managed to get to many sleep paralysis. . . Thought I failed as I walked through my room again and again, then it turned out to be a false awakening. I found out after my reflection on the mirror wasn't following my own actions. I jumped through the window, found a couple of DC's basking in the sun. I screamed out to the sky "show me my dream guide" nothing happened, but a dc raised her hand to tell me something that didn't make sense .. I screamed out again "show me Avana? (please?)" gladly it worked in no time at all. On a roof from a distance, somebody was carrying her in a wheel barrow? (or a side chair on a motorcycle, like Hagrid's?) Thing is, the dude just dropped her out of it, so she ended up tumbling down the roof. She hit the ground bouncing has I ran towards her. I said "Are you my dream guide," .. .

She was smiling, and out of breath, seems like she had fun falling down the roof. She held up one finger.
      "No," she said. . .

... . . thus, starts my hunt for my "real" dream guide?

Oh well, good luck on finding you true dream guide. Congrats on the WILD though. I'm too lazy to try them myself.
