      Exclamation Just. Can't. Calm. Down!

Ok, I knw there's some threads for this already, but I'm getting kind of annoyed...

So, the first time I had a lucid, I was like I'M LUCID!!

lucidlucidlucidlucid!! yayayayayayay (yeah, you get the point) Anyway, the first thing I did was running around, ensuring that NO DC missed the fact that I was lucid, I jumped, fled, shot magic, summoned DCs etc.
after a while, I woke up, pretty happy about my first, real lucid(have had lucids before that, but I didn't know that I could control it...)

      BUT
It was one thing that I wasn't so happy about: The stabilizing(was that spelled right?). When I got lucid, I didn't stop AT ALL to calm down and to think that this is my dream and so on. I didn't stop to look at details, i didnt stop to stabilize when I felt the dream was vanishing.

But, I thought that it was okay, because it was my first real lucid, and that I had plenty of time to practice.

Now I've had 20+ lucids, and I ALWAYS forget to stabilize and calm down. I get just as exited as I was the first time, and I never remember to do anything but running around, showing DCs "who's the BOSS" ...

Its not like the excitement wake me up or something, its just that it makes my lucids less detailed and more likely to get half or just little lucid. Its also hard to kepp myself lucid when not calming down...
SO! My question is, do any of you DreamViewers experience the same? What do you do to remember to calm down?

With my way of becoming lucid, I generally calm down automatically in dreams.
Every now and then, I just take a moment to calm down, check my breathing, the surroundings, and everything to see if I'm dreaming. That way, If I am, I'm already calmed down.

How do you normally become lucid? Is there a place in your routine where you could practice calming down and stabilizing? For example, if you use MILD, you could imagine yourself stabilizing the dream. If you use daytime reality checks, you could practice each time you RC.

I use different techniques, but for the moment, I do MILDs. Lately I've imagined that I'm stabilizing too, but the fact that I'm lucid is just so... overwhelming!!! ...

Got lucid today, and guess what? I REMEMBERED TO STABILIZE!!!! It was hard, but I managed to look down at my hands that got like 18 fingers each (!) I consentrated and calmed down, only thinking that this was my dream, and it worked! The dream got crystal clear after that, and I got more controll. YESSS

Awesome The finger count always helps me stabilize, too. I have the most success when I ground myself in my dream body. I need to do things that involve my body, like looking at my hands, touching things, moving, running, or feeling my feet on the ground.

Go to a pharmacy in your dream. Talk to the gentleman or lady behind and counter and say "Sir/Ma'am, please can I have a chill pill?" They'll give it to you, take it with a glass of water and you will be a-ok.
