How big is your dream journal

How long is your dream journal? By this i mean how many nights/days/weeks/months/years have you been writing down your dreams and how successful have you been?

For me I write my dreams down each monring in a diary I have. This is a really good method for me because I can flick through the dates and tell you each dream / dreams I had on that date.

If I wake up during the night I write down what I rememeber in as much detail as I can. I have been getting really sloppy with this over the past 2 months and am trying to get back into it. But I can remember exactly , in detail my dreams from back in march (7 months ago)

Well on this side I have only 4 DJ entries, as I only feel content about sharing stuff with an appropriate quality per word amount. As for my other dream journal which I keep on my PC I have only 32 nights recorded, starting the 29th july, 2009. So I'm really sloppy, but it's also because I go by the value of the dreams wether I write them down or not.
For me it still makes up a good dream recall because every night I remember some dreams and I will pull them out of my memory to see if there's something interesting, in which case I write it down.

And for me even single words are usually enough to completely recall a dream for a few days afterwards, so instead of getting up in the night, I just make myself remember a few words and everything's set.
Personal Records so far: Max lucids per day: 2 | Max lucids per week: 4 | Max lucids per month: 8 | Max dreams recalled in one night: 17
      Longest lucid dream: ~35min | Highest flight: zoomed out of common existence [WTF?] | Fastest speed: FTL | DILD/EILD/DEILD [X] | WILD/VILD [X] | MILD/FILD/HILD [ ]

I've been keeping a dream journal off and on since 2004. A couple years of breaks in between here and there. Recently I've been averaging 2 pages on an okay night, and 5 pages on a good night....college rule 8.5x11 notebook. I've probably got over 500 nights of dreams with 3 to 6 dreams a night. Don't know what that equates to, but its quite a lot. From that, I've found pages of dream signs, and recurring themes. I've found out how my dreams are structured, and how they follow tangents, and hypothetical situations. I've not been extremely successful with LDing yet, because I've been inconsistent and only have done it for a few months here and a few months there. Life got in the way. But this last 2 months, I've had 11 lucid dreams, where the last number of years since I had started only had a total of 10.

I've been keeping one since I joined in November 2009; I started with a paper DJ but then decided to put them up online; many of them weren't transferred because they were too big or not entertaining to read. I haven't typed up too many entries from the last couple of weeks, but I still have almost 200 in my online DJ here, from November 2009 to present.

The total number of entries I've written or typed is probably a good 500+.

I certainly believe dream journaling positively affects my recall.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

~60 over the last half a year with 30+ entries being from within the last two months. I used to be interested in just recording my dreams due to inspiration from Yume Nikki, but recently as I've gotten into lucid dreaming my dream recall has improved greatly. Before in my lucid dreams I used to separate myself from the dream character and occasionally think "how am I going to remember all this?", "should I wake up now so as to remember as much as possible?" or "will this shorten my dream?", but now I'm actually getting to be in control of when and how I have my dreams, and what happens in them.

I kept my dream journal pretty faithfully... for a few weeks. Sadly, it's almost non-existant to this day; I don't know what happened to it. I have another dream journal (a red notebook I found lying around) now, but I really don't write in it or read it any more. It's only got 3 or 4 pages of entries. I tend to keep my dreams in mind and tell the people around me about them, as well as read into certain aspects of them during the day, to help keep them fresh.

I'm not implying that I shouldn't write them down or even that I am able to remember them for more than a few days. I'm just saying that personally I spend more time considering the dreams themselves than actually spending time writing them down.

      Cool replies -

Little off topic but I was reading my journal from back in February and apparently had a dream where I was in my old history class from when I was at school. There was a tv on and I was watching it and it was like a huge long vox pop of different people saying what they liked about me, weird.

I have a whole closet full of them. I go through cycles. I will write down every detail for a few months, then only jot down notes for a while. It seems tied to my current goals.
