Met my first real life lucid dreamer!

Hey guys! Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. I tried to make sure this isn't out of place...not trying to be a troll or a spammer.

So, I had an amazing experience today. I have never met another person who can lucid dream. I mean, not that I know of. I don't introduce myself by saying "Hi, I'm Andi. I lucid dream. Nice to meet you. Do you?". But today, I met my roommate's coworker, and she was telling this story about a reoccurring dream she has had. When everyone questioned her, she started talking about how she can lucid dream...and so on. I was so excited that I burst out, to everyone's confusion, "Oh my God! Me too!!!!" and other things to an excited, and similar, fashion. I never got to talk to her about it, because she left without us getting "alone time" but I really feel like this is a sign! I just recently started using this site and I've been more obsessed with my lucid dreaming than usual (mainly because I'm losing a lot of control and I'm annoyed by it).

Note: my two little sisters can lucid dream but I don't count them. It's possible they only can because of me, and I don't talk to them as much as I should. This is the first person, besides them, that I've ever met who can lucid.

Anyway, to make this a true forum, I'll ask a question or two. How many people have you met in the "real world realm" that can lucid dream? What was your experience. And so on...

Thats great Asherem... It helps having people in RL who you can talk to about Lucid Dreaming / etc, believe it or not, that alone can boost your chances of DILDs and LDing. Its always fun to have a common interest like this...

Ive only met a few people who know what Lucid Dreaming is, but never any who actually do it.

I've never met anyone who can. Anyone I've ever talked to about it has no idea what it is, and always seem to ask the same question..."doesn't that make you tired?" Then they finish it up with, "I rarely ever dream." I wish I knew at least one person that LD'd. It would be awesome to talk with someone face to face about it.

I was actually quite surprised recently while having an email conversation with a fellow animator and I worked up the courage to throw myself to the wolves and tell him about my lucid dreaming, expecting the usual "WTF - I don't want to know you anymore" response, but he was all like "Yeah, I do that too, all the time." Like it was totally no big deal!

After I picked up my jaw from the floor and did a few RCs we got into a long discussion, and he told me about an amazing lucid dream in which he entered the world one one of his first films and interacted with characters in it, but then one of them turned demonic and started lashing at him with some kind of razor blade whips or something (don't remember the details too clearly now) and it cut open a gash in reality into which he was sucked onto a dark frightening void. Something like that anyway. Heh - I told him about this site and who I am in here, wonder if he'll read this?

I was a little jelly cause I had tried many times to have a lucid dream about my animation (hopefully to get inspiration for a film), but had only had a few weird regular dreams about it that were very unsatisfying. Well, a few days after that convo I had a (regular) dream featuring one of my early puppets that I was animating, and then I saw the film I had made with it (a new film). No real inspiration, but it was amazing to see that puppet and feel the slightly sticky rubbery texture of it as I animated it, and then see it in motion.

He lives in LA and hangs out with a bunch of other pro animators, and when I told him he was the 1st lucid dreamer I knew IRL he freaked out a little and said a lot of his animator/artist friends are. Maybe it's just a lot more common among creative types.

I forgot to mention, he said the reason his lucid turned so nightmarish is because he was feverish at the time and also on medication for it. That's probably also what sparked his lucidity.
