Question Does my medication stop me from having lucid dreams?

      Hi.
So I was wondering if my medication (I will list it) is stopping me from lucidity?
At night before I go to bed I take 150mg of seroqual XR. It takes about 20 minutes for the medicine to kick in, and when it does I am asleep in seconds. I usually have a pretty deep sleep, my doctor told me to up the dosage recently because I was waking up at 5.

Also; I am on Prozac and adderall. The adderall wares off by night time but I am not sure about the prozac (I take it at dinner time)

Before I upped my dosage of serequal I had really vivid dreams.
Does serequal do anything to my lucid dreaming abilities?

      Thanks so much.

Probably should be moved to Lucid Aids section.

Anyways, the seroqual might affect your chances. Here's why: If it is supposed to make you fall asleep then it will probably make you have a deeper sleep than usual like you said. Which if you are sleeping harder ( if that makes sense ) the less chances you will have of becoming lucid since it makes you so tired your mind will probably have a harder time trying to lucid dream.

As for Prozac and adderall I really don't know if it affects lucid dreaming or not as I don't have the biggest knowledge when it comes to lucid aids.

I hope this helps, PM if you have some more Qs!

Those aren't lucid aids, just medications she has to be taking for other reasons.

Anyway, you could probably ask your doctor if these are drugs that affect dreams. I wouldn't think they would affect lucid dreams but possibly dream recall and/or your sleep cycle. If you are still recalling dreams, you can still practice LDing fine though.

I know for a fact any medicine that helps you go to sleep does prevent lucidity, IE: Clonodine

I have the same issue. I drink Kava on a daily basis, this keeps me from having alcohol cravings- no one drop in over a year. However, it also suppresses my ability to become lucid I can dream again finally but no lucida since around Christmas, which I feel so sad about. Lucidity is very spiritual for me so in a sense I feel extremely cut off from God and my connection to my spirituality. It's a tough situation.
