      First Lucid dream - questions!

Hello. I finally figured I should join a forum because I had my first real Lucid dream this morning.
This morning I woke up 7:00 am, took a shower, checked my today's school day, and I realized I had free all day. So at 9:30 (after 2 hours awakening, a shower and some food), I went to bed. I really sat my mind on having a lucid dream and checked my hands and imagined a dream. Not really intensely, just imagining. I tried to not move at all at a very lousy attempt to WILD (I don't even know if it was a WILD, but i tried not to move and think about dreaming), I eventually fell asleep, and the first thing I remember was a screen I looked at and I couldn't read what it was saying, so I thought to myself "Hey, you can't read in dreams right?", So I yelled "Clarity now!", and it all became VERY much clearer! It was beautiful screen. Then I ended up in a totally black place with a picture coming at me saying "SAFE" with big red frightening letters. And there were 4 pictures of 2 people having sex while smiling at the camera with their thumbs up, like a safe sex commercial.. It was a little weird.. It then dissapeared and I imagined a beach, a peaceful place, I ended up there and transformed to a lion and ran all that I could!
THEN... I "woke up" This is the question part. I don't know if I were awake. I didn't try to move, so I could've been in Sleep Paralysis, and I was in the same position as I were when I really woke up 4 minutes later. I felt a buzz throughout my body, and I could really feel I could directly fall into a lucid dream again. (When I woke up I was 70% sure that it was part of the dream/false awakening), then I fell asleep into the black dream void again, with the same picture saying "SAFE" coming at me again. This time for some reason more frightening and scary, with a loud SHARP and scary tone getting louder as the picture came closer. I got too scared and woke myself up by tensing and feeling my physical body.

Was I awake? When I think back at it, IF I were awake, my senses must have been distorted alot (can that be caused by Sleep Paralysis?)... And why did that not scary picture keep trying to scare me (and succeeding) in my first Lucid dream? I almost never have nightmares, it was like it had been waiting for me to come there to the Dream void to show itself to me. I read yesterday ABOUT the Dream Void, which is maybe why I ended up there? Or is it something that happens to everyone while switching scenes?
      Thanks!
And I'm really glad I had my first Lucid dream.
PS: I woke up 20 minutes later, after looking at my clock before falling asleep, so the dream had been around 10-15 minutes...

      Congrats, and welcome!

Im jealous - transforming into an animal is a desire of mine, but not one Im pursuing at the moment. How did it feel?
As for the "SAFE" image, Im not entirely sure what the hell was going on... ?

Well, actually, the animal part.. I did not at all think about transforming! I just thought, hey I wanna be a lion! - And I ran as a lion... I also read it should be hard, which is weird, because this lucid dream was pretty blurry, and I did it just like that.. Didn't feel any different at all though, except faster! Thanks for the reply ! Good luck in your Lucid Goals! Sounds very interesting actually!

I think you were in fact awake there. You remained in SP and your 'distorted senses' are a common experience (hypnagogic imagenary I believe it is called, probably misspelled it). A feeling of fear can be part of it, which was most likely the case here. Nice experience though! Next time, if you remember to, make sure to stay calm. It's all in YOUR world, so YOU won't be hurt. Someone on this forum (can't remember his name, but all credits to him) once said: 'SP is only scary if you're scared of it'

      Thanks alot!
There's still one thing though; WHY did I enter SP? Did I accidentally use some special method? I guess i did the WBTB part, but did I do a WILD since I entered SP? I didn't FEEL the transition from Reality to dream, I remember falling asleep and then looking at that screen knowing I was Lucid. Thanks

You can WILD without making a concious attempt to do so. Also, SP can give very weird hallucinations, but it also happens a lot that you dont feel it at all and are suddenly in a dream. I've done it once. Woke up, tried to go back to sleep, imagined myself flying, landing in a garden, then suddenly I felt something I can only describe as reality hitting me, and I was standing in my RL garden. Shame my dream-me wasnt capable of stabilizjng back then, because it was very vivid Good luck on further lucid attempts

The line between dreaming and wakefulness is quite fuzzy. Hallucinations like false awakenings, buzzing, loud screeches, or paralysis are common when waking from a lucid dream. Normally it means you are waking prematurely. You should be able to slip back into the dream.

Thanks That was what I thought, too.
This morning I just realized how easy it is for me to get back into a dream after waking from one. I don't even have to be able to remember it. This morning I woke up and thought "Okay.. I'll try to lie still and keep my eyes closed), and I within 8 seconds felt the buzz and loud sounds like my ear drums were wobbling like crazy! I was 90% sure I could fall back into a dream even though I had to get up (sadly ), I even caught myself telling me where I was in the dream I wasn't in yet, it was kinda weird in a good way of cause. Seems very promising!
