      Tips on staying lucid?

I've been having tons of DILD lucid dreams recently, but they always fade out after a few seconds and I start to dream again.

So, does anyone have tips on staying lucid?

When you feel you are fading away from LD, start spinning around and rubbing your hands

      Because I get lucky?

Basically I just look at my hands in dreams.

I want to further what i mean but its hard when i don't know which part you are not understanding. Aren't you instinctive in your dreams, like, why would an instinctive creature do a non-instinctive action like rubbing ones hand? Only a knowledgeable being who has logic and awareness of their reality could do such a feat.

I don't really understand what d3nd3 is saying either..
The reason you rub your hands is to ground your dream senses down, to stabalise. This is so you don't suddenly 'fall out' of the dream when you try dream control.
As for the OP - Once you get lucid, I would recommend you reality check (even if you're sure it's a dream). This is just a final confirmation to yourself that you're dreaming. Look around yourself at the environment. Absorb the fact that this is a dream and all created by your mind. If you feel that you're starting to lose lucidity, immediately stop what you're doing and perform another reality check. Once again, remind yourself. "I'm dreaming."

No, not rubbing my hands. You misunderstood me. I SAW my hands, had more than five fingers, and became shortly lucid.

Whenever my lucids start to fade I just latch on to the nearest object and concentrate on it. I feel its texture, temperature, I look at its colour, the little details on it. Then my dream usually stabilises itself very effectively. Good luck

Just to chime in a little, if you are waking up right when you realize you are dreaming, you have to train yourself to stay calm. I know it's hard since you're excited that you got a LD, but you have to really try at it or your dreams will never last longer than a few seconds. Also, as others have said, when you feel the dream fading either spin or rub your hands/focus on your surroundings. Really anchor yourself in the dream.

If all else fails and you wake up you could always attempt a DEILD. They take a little bit of training but it's basically a shortened WILD. Once you wake up from a dream you remain completely still, not even opening your eyes. Then, you preform what is essentially a WILD only much shorter and often does not have a strong form of SP since you are likely already in it. A tip for this is to visualize the dream you just woke up from. If you were flying through the sky, think about that. This way, your mind already has a template to work from instead of starting from scratch.

      Hope this helped
