      Lucidity: Definition

Lucidity means awareness. It comes from Luce, meaning light, like Lucifer, Morning Star.

Lucid dreaming means you know you are dreaming.

I think there is confusion because of different types and levels of awareness, and also Dream Control.

You can have different levels of lucidity. You may fade in and out of lucidity. Your dream control may be tied into your lucidity but not necessarily.

If you know you are dreaming, you are lucid.

Thank you for posting this. It's possible to be lucid in a dream, but also in waking life. We may think we're lucid right now, but if we want to become lucid in dream we also have to do so in waking life!

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

My girlfriend is called Lucy, about a year into our relationship and after I'd started learning to lucid dream I found out she's a natural lucid dreamer. 'Lucy' = 'light bearer'

My name means: El gives The Light Bearer The Sunlight of La Consecrated to Mars.

      That's really cool man.

I'll have to ask her if she's ever been given the sunlight of mars by a jaguar dream God

...And that one sentence is the true foundation to all successful LD's; well said!

Lucidity is lucidity, day or night. Master it in the day, and you make it possible in the night.

I think sometimes people get too caught up in trying to classify and analyze things into such a complicated system when it's really more simple than that. Lucidity is lucidity. You may have bad control, you may not even be as aware, but if you know you are in a dream regardless, you are experiencing a lucid dream.

A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.

Maybe we as the LD community need to expand our slang base.
