      Friends...help, please.

I regard most of you around here as friends, and i need your help...

Alright, im not in the BEST mood ever.
It just seems like the deeper I dig, the less I find.
I'm just caught, paralysed, not knowing what to do.
I dont regard this as a dry spell, because it isn't. Im just stuck, i cant breath in the kerosine, 'the static's got me down'.

I have extreemly vivid dreams, on a good night of sleep i can recall 3 or 4, which is plenty, and i get up and wright down most of them, but i have one problem that is getting me down tremendously-
NO LUCIDITY. i have some kind of mental block, and its not letting me go any further

what to do, what to do...?

The best thing to do is try and relax. Seriously! Regarding things like this, the harder you try, the more of a block you run into. So just relax, don't even worry about dreaming for a few nights. Concentrate on getting a solid night's sleep. After that, give it another try, but don't beat yourself up in the process. Fighting a block like that can be very exhuasting, both physically and mentally.

I hope that helps at least a little.

Hmmm..I wish there was something I could do..but its really mostly up to yourself..Im not really an expert when it comes to telling people what a good method is because I just become lucid naturally..BUT, I think the following things might help..

-When you meditate(you do..right) when you are completely relaxed and in a (minor) trance. Tell yourself to remember to reconize a dream..tell yourself over and over, and after telling it yourself a few times everytime picture yourself in a dream becoming lucid. For instance by seeing a clock go messed up, or seeing something weird. See yourself say "Im dreaming" and continue what you would do, fly around for example.
Do this a few times, as much as possible of course but 3-4 times of seeing yourself do it should be fine I think. And when you awaken from your trance instantly ask yourself if your dreaming and make sure your not, and over the day still confirm yourself everynow and then with the same phrase you said during meditation. Doing this everyday should really help you becoming more aware..

-Becoming more aware over the whole should work aswell..always be aware, its they key point of buddhistic streams..awareness. You must tell yourself a few times a few day that you know that dreams have a deceiving, illusional nature, but that you will see trough it. Look around and tell yourself thingfs like what day is it, who am I, where am I, does it make sense Im here? Might help.

      - Before you got to bed repeat the meditation exersise, and if you have the willpower, repeat the exersise when you awake in the middle of the night. Only this time make the dreamscene you reconize your preious dream. Much like your doing MILD, only in meditative state. I even do this sometimes to focus on a certain subject I wanna handle in a LD.

      - Another thing that might really help is working goal orientated, people who have a goal in mind generally work better and are more driven. Think up what you wanna do in a LD, for instance fly. And tell yourself you really wanna fly, and if you wanna acomplish that goal you gotta become lucid. I dont know about this one, its just silly I gues, I made it up on the spot lol(well I gues I made everything up on the spot LOL!)

Anyway, I hope my made up on the spot bullshit is gonna help a bit lol, I think the meditation would work.

I'm not really great at obtaining lucidity so i probably couldn't give you any pointers. Did something happen in your dreamworld lately? I was thinking maybe your mind or something else doesn't want you going back there...

LC, I've only has one very brief (5 seconds) LD in the past two weeks.
I've been trying to WILD and I am afraid that I have been sacrificing my prime LD time.

WerBurn and I are working on something that might help, but alas, we are still a couple of weeks away from finishing it.

All I can say is try not to get too tense and do what I have been doing. Perform reality checks every 10 minutes or whenever the scene changes.

Lost Soul, do you have anything in your spell book that could help?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I've been looking, but the only things I came across were references to Indian rituals. I have no spells that would help, but perhaps you can look up and research some old Native American techniques. If anyone knew dreams, it was definately them.

in addition to what Lost Soul said, just don't worry about it. I had a block that lasted a few weeks. but it's gone now. so just don't worry so much.

Alright, im not in the BEST mood ever.
It just seems like the deeper I dig, the less I find.
I'm just caught, paralysed, not knowing what to do. [/b]
hm...when I was in that block, not only did I feel that way about my dreams, but I was also feeling that way about life. I guess I was somewhat depressed...just consider yourself lucky.

So i was meditating last night, and it was around 12:40 PM and i wanted to go to bed before 1:15, because i had to wake up a little after 8 AM, so i wanted my sleep...

I decided to meditate, which i havent been doing lately, and i only did it for 20 minutes, but it was great. The best part, is i meditate with a candle, generally a soothing scented one, such as WARM VANILLA SUGAR! wOOt.
Anyway, my body was freakin the fuck out when all i could see in the 'void' was the flickering sillohette.

      kick ass.

ohyes. in addition to what I said earlier, I definitely suggest MILD. when you wake up from a dream, picture yourself back in that dream fully lucid. (works every time for me) good luck.

      Here is a suggestion...

      Abre los Ojos...
      Early Morning Moment,
      A Glimpse of Joy,
But soon it's Over, and I return to Dust...

      that's what I thought...

a MILD? simple. when you wake up from a dream, picture yourself back in that dream fully lucid. that's all there is to it.

alright alright! if you want a more elaborate explanation, go to page 78 of EWLD.
