      Not everyone, hehe. Well, OK, I do get into SP, since you need to in order to dream, but I'm not aware of being in SP and with exception of one short and not so bad HH, I don't experience any scary visual or auditory stuff. Only lot's of tectile in form of feeling myself being moved - but that's not scary.

      Does anyone have a theory as to why someone has and the other person doesn't have scary HH?

      @backspacez
      Method called MILD doesn't involve any SP or HH. You just fall asleep normaly and wait for your regular dream in which you realize you are dreaming. Happy dreams

      I'd say expectations. The thoughts that come with the tactile sensations tend to determine the nature of the hallucination, and they can be transformed much like dream control. There was a time when I had a long bout of sleep paralysis at night and used the opportunity to test some principles; I found that I could make things appear ( a phantom hand grabbing my arm and pulling me backward, transparent body, floating etc), steer the course for the ensuing dreams (a fantasy island, a street scene) and also bypass the uncomfortable paralysis feelings for the most part which was tricky and involved moving my consciousness up and down the body until I found a comfortable position (I chose the heart) and then sinking in. It's all subconscious impressions leading the mind, control the intent and you control it.

      I kinda have same feeling about this. It's important to have happy thoughts.

      Don't worry, you are in sleep paralysis every single night, in order for you to dream. It is a body mechanism, to avoid that you hurt yourself when dreaming..
      And it ain't scary for everyone.
      And if it happens to be for you, there is always other ways to become lucid (check the Wiki.)
      Btw, if you try to WILD as you are scared, you probably won't get SP either way. You have to relax to get there, to get a WILD ld at all.
      Maybe you should try other methods? WILD is a difficult methods for most (and absolutely myself :s) and needs practice and the right mind set..
      DILD or MILD is maybe easier and better methods for you to get your first lucid.

      Best luck
