Unhappy Intense, Unwanted SP Experiences - Why?

Okay, as of late (past few weeks) i have been trying to get back into LD'ing. All im doing is saying an "i am dreaming" mantra while attempting to sleep, RCs and WBTB. What i am about to describe i'm sure is not the "old hag" syndrome but i dont know.

So i had very little sleep in the 24 hours before last night (three) so was very tired and went to bed much earlier then i would do. However i woke up after three hours with no dream recall and was struggling to get back to sleep. I canceled all my WBTB alarms and had some water, a sandwich and watched some TV. I decided to try and sleep again after about three hours.

So i have some dreams after that, ones that started normal but became increasingly realistically terrifying, by which i mean, real terrifying things that could happen and other stuff like getting caught by parents doing shit im not supposed to, comitting social suicide etc.

And then in one instance, i get a blur and all of sudden it feels like im seeing everything through a layer of static. I dream im in my bed and i'm being prodded all over by someone i know (in real life, im very sensitive to "tickling" to the point of actual pain) and its the most uncomfortable thing ever. I realise that this is just a dream and i'm in SP, i try and open my eyelids and i see my father coming into the room and i think "yes, he'll wake me up and end this" but he disappeared. I know im dreaming by this point and i think i'm moving my arms slowly. I dont remember how, but i managed to snap out and bolt upright, struggling to breath and physically exhausted. I go into the next room and ask my dad if he just came in. He didn't.

Went back to sleep and had the same experience.

Now, i have had this sensation before, and nightmares of being put through physical trauma through prodding, poking and tickling, but nothing this intense. Those times, i had been trying to WILD before sleeping and i have never, ever, ever been aware i was entering SP and dreaming before, just waiting to wake up. I guess that it was the fact i had stimulated myself and giving myself chemical energy before sleeping the second time and caused a delayed, involuntary WILD, but i need to know how to fight this quickly by either

      A) Snapping out of the SP and returning to full wakefulness
      B) Turning the situation into an LD or something positive.

What are the best possible ways to do either, as this has been happening more often lately?

      Thanks!

PS After i wake up each time, i'm not terrified of going back to bed, i think they are intense and exciting in retrospect. However, while it happens, they're the worst experiences of my life.

I have read a lot of these questions, and a lot of responses, and it always comes down to do what works for you. If one thing doesn't work, try another.

Always start off by telling yourself that it's just a dream and nothing can harm you. DO this even while awake.

Do your RCs. If one doesn't work for you, try another. Hands, nose, etc.

Look for dream signs. If you see one, it can help you gain control.

      Wash, rinse, repeat.

When attempting to diagnose an issue it helps to control certain factors. A routine helps. Go to sleep each night at the same time, eat at the same time, wake up at the same time. The body loves a routine, and it can help you isolate factors that contribute to your experiences.

I'm sure others will chime in soon.

      Hey, thank you for responding.

The thing is, it was difficult for me to differentiate between the dream and reality. In both the physical world and in my dream, i was lying in bed and struggling to move. I mentioned that my thoughts were "i'm dreaming right now" and i was lucid, but would a RC solidify this and put me back in the dream? I mentioned everything was in static, i was panicking too hard to concentrate on a dream sign.... It was a very bizarre experience and difficult to describe. I mean, i knew i was in a dream and in SP, i literally could do nothing about it. It almost happened again this morning but i was i was interrupted quite early into the experience by some outside interfering.

And yeah, i don't really have a routine (holidays from uni) but i sort of.... want this to happen again? Is that weird?

It's not weird to want it again.

Maybe if it happens again you can wrestle some control out of the situation. You have greater awareness now.

The hard part is putting your awareness into action during the dream.
