      Lucid dream within a dream?

Last night used WBTB by waking up at 4:30 and reading about LDing for 40 minutes. For about 45 minutes.

After that I had several short dreams(some were lucid at the end). I know that these were real because I recorded them in my DJ. Later however I had one really long dream in which I was doing the same thing that I was doing before(going in and out of dreams and recording them in my DJ). Each time I woke from a dream within the original dream, the setting was slightly different(e.g. one time I woke up on a bunk bed, which I got rid of half a year ago).

In one of these dreams I became lucid. I have never needed reality checks(I always just knew that I was in a dream as if I remembered it), but I wanted to know if some of them worked in my dreams. So I tried to push my finger through my hand and it was as if my skin and flesh were rubber. I then felt as if I was waking up so I started to rub my hands together and I stayed in the dream. Later in the LD I started to fly, then I woke up back into the first dream. I also wrote these dreams in my DJ in the original dream.

I was just wondering if there is a difference between actually being in a lucid dream and dreaming about being in a lucid dream?
If there is, which one was I likely to be in and how do I tell in the future?

Also, has anyone else had a similar experience?

You could have had a false awakening. That's when you wake up from a dream, you go about your daily activities and unles you become aware and think of doing RC, you never know you are in a dream. Does this sound like it? Happy dreams

I did, but when I had a lucid dream within the false awakening was that any different to a usual lucid dream in terms of awareness, as I thought that my real self was simply myself in the original dream?
