What technique would be best for me?

Hey, I've been reading about lucid dreaming for a while now and I think that today I got my first lucid dream. In the dream I was standing in my school's corridor and then a thought came to my head "oh shit this is dream" and then it all became very clear and I tried some things. The problem was that it didn't last very long.

So I tend to wake up usually like 6 hours after sleeping and I usually remember at least one dream that I have seen in the night(today I remember 3). The problem is that I usually can't realize that I am dreaming.

Tried self hypnosis today and it worked really well, takes like 10-15min for me to fall in pretty good trance so that self suggestions start to work. I suggested myself that my leg fells so heavy that it's hard to raise it and it worked After I suggested that my leg feels like a feather and it worked too, but after I lost concentration as someone came home. I read that self hypnosis can help lucid dreams, but can someone explain how.

So the main point is, what technique would be good for me? Thanks!

Quick question, do you take drugs?

Nope, but that question was pretty degrading. I mean that I didn't really do any rt in the dream or anything, a thought just came in to my head, but I guess that doesn't happen often. I am usually just too dumb to realize that I am dreaming.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I spent a lot of time that way, and so it resonated with me. There are people way more experienced with that here than me, so I hope you get the answer you're looking for.

Thanks anyway! I think I could try something with the self hypnosis when I wake up. Hope someone knows more.

No need to stick with one specific technique. Hit it from several angles. During your day, perform reality checks, and try to remember to question whether or not your are dreaming. When you wake after 6 hours of sleep, try something like WILD or MILD. What you are doing now could transition well into WILD. Basically, you fall asleep while meditating, and enter a dream. Have you read through the WILD guide? WILD Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

I think I will give that WILD thing a shot as I always wake up like 5 or 6 hours after when I go to sleep, it's like impossible to sleep the whole time without waking up I remember like 3 dreams from last night, but in one I realized it was a dream and in the others I was dumb. Thanks for advice.

Tried the WILD this morning when I woke the first time, and I nearly succeeded, but I got scared from some screaming when I was falling to sleep. Gonna try again next weekend as it's pretty much impossible for me on the week. I remember like 3 dreams again, but was too dumb to realize it's a dream..

It sounds like you got scared during SP. (Sleep Paralysis) The best thing to remember is that it's not real, and you're heading into a dream soon. Your body goes into SP every night, so it's already a normal thing. Now, you're going through it consciously. Good Luck on your next WILD, my first attempt will be tonight!

      Happy dreaming!

I think I must try the hypnosis self suggestion thing as it seems that I fall to hypnosis very easily.

No, you should try WILD again next weekend. Maybe this time you will get success.

I took a little nap today and woke up from a dream, my eyelids very twitching heavily and it was even hard to open my eyes completely. Then I tried to sleep again and heard sounds again and got scared, come on... Gotta try again I guess. I don't know what the fuck happened. I did hypnosis before I took the nap and suggested that I will see a some sign in my dream and become lucid, but dunno if that helped it. It was really weird anyways, never happened before. I was in very deep trance on my hypnosis though..

You are not dumb or stupid for not becoming lucid in your dreams. Don't think that way. Critical thinking is all but shut off during dreams naturally as the brain kicks into a lower gear, there is NO stupid and smart, but aware and unaware. You were unaware in your dreams.
