I was practicing Lesson 2, Diffuse Vision Level 4 while my wife was driving on the freeway at about 85 MPH. I was trying to be fully aware of my entire field of vision, while having my eyes face forward, and not allowing my eyes to use binocular focus.
Suddenly in my wifes rear view mirror a car is visable in the lane about 3 feet off from the back door on that side. My wife begins ahigh speed lane change into that lane. I said "Watch out" and she did not see or registar the car occupying the space she was attempting to fill at very high speed! She kept moving into the lane, so I yelled "Watch OUT!!"
She was able to avoid the crash. I realized that my vision was still diffuse and straight ahead. I had been able to fully process my entire feild of vision, and realize the importance of what was going on in her rear view mirror, despite me staring vacantly forward.
It is not to late to start Lesson 1 if anyone is interested. My wife swears she was about to have a brutal high speed reck, and if I had not yelled it would have happened. What a wierd thing, that I was doing that at the exact moment we really needed it!
