      Is this a lucid dream?

I've had a history of sleep paralysis as long as I can remember. So I know that there's a difference between sleep paralysis and what I experienced early this morning. This typically happens to me if I wake up and then fall back asleep multiple times in the early morning. The third time I fell back asleep I "woke up" in my dream. I was laying in my bed totally aware that I was dreaming. I tried to wake myself up, I tried throwing my dream body onto the ground but it was sluggish and slow moving to fall so I didn't wake up. I tried opening my eyes and I could see light but everything was flickering and I couldn't get there. I stumbled to the bathroom and at this point in my dream I was actually a little confused if I was awake or not. Then I got back into my bed and tried to call for my mom. She heard me in my dream but my brothers came in and started to hold my mouth closed so I couldn't breathe. I couldn't move my arms or legs I was paralyzed. But finally I broke free and said "Guys stop. I have this thing sometimes where in the morning I'm awake but I'm completely asleep in some dream state and I can't wake up no matter what I do. But my sleeping life parallels my waking life perfectly." (The heat, the blankets, the sunlight or darkness, my dog barking my parents walking around) Then I actually woke up woke up and was like "finally i'm actually awake and not in some weird I think Im awake but can't wake up state. So is this lucid dreaming or some weird type of sleep paralysis?

every sleep paralysis I've ever had I've been totally aware and conscious but I can't breathe, move or speak. I heard weird video game sounds in my head and focus on moving my little finger. That totally wakes me up but in these states I don't have like the weird dream component. I don't know what this is! It's just weird

Based on this alone, yes it was a lucid dream, albeit a low quality one with little control. It sounds like you had a false awakening, "waking up" into another dream, only you caught it and realized it was still a dream. Afterwards you said that you woke up for real which normally comes as a surprise to people since false awakenings can mimic waking life very closely and are hard to catch. However you can get lucid from them almost every time if you train yourself to preform reality checks when you wake up. This way if you do have another false awakening you can catch it and continue on with whatever you want.

The weird video game sounds you sometimes hear are called Hypnagogic Hallucinations, or HH. They can be both audio and visual or just one or the other. It's completely normal and often signifies a dream approaching which is a perfect time to try a WILD, or wake induced lucid dream, in which you go directly from that waking state into a dream. However if you want to do this you have to find the right balance of consciousness and unconsciousness since if you're too aware you won't fall asleep (which you stated these sounds wake you up) and if you're not aware enough you just fall asleep normally.

I hope this answered your question and if you have any more feel free to post them or send me or one of the dream guides on here a pm.
