Question Sleeping in your own bed - does this make a difference?

I'm in love with this forum, I'm finding it so helpful with lots of really cool information!

What did occur to me though, is weather sleeping in your own bed or not effects your ability to lucid dream.

I rarely sleep in the same bed (sounds more exciting than it really is - I travel a lot so it's hotels and friend's couches) and have never tried to see weather my LD's occur when I am in a certain bed or not.

I've decided to start recording where I am sleeping in my DJ to see if it makes a difference!

      Anyone else already done this?

Well, you get more "beauty" sleep if you're sleeping in your own bed. It's a safer enviroment and you know where you are at. However, if you sleep in a bed you're not used to, or uncomfortable, you'll wake up more often once your REM cycles end. That's when you remember your dreams. I slept in another bed last weekend and I must have recalled 6 dreams that night without trying.

I can imagine that the waking up more regularly will help you remember more dreams. What I am wondering in your case, though, seeing you say that you are away frequently because of traveling etc.: are you used to this by now? In other words, do you still have more difficulty sleeping at a new place than you do sleeping in your own bed? Because if not I can imagine that there will not be that much of a difference.

Yeah, I'm pretty used to it so maybe it doesn't make a difference now! Good point.

No I do not think that where you sleep affects your Dream Recall or LD, because I have had three LDs not in my bed, and I got a new bed recently. One of those three was even on my friends floor, lol.
