      Was this a lucid dream?

      So I slept at 2am, woke up at 7:30 and during that time i read alot about lucid dreaming. I practice alot by saying things like, i will have a lucid dream and do reality checks, then went back to sleep at 10:30. I had a normal dream at first then I had a dream that my sister was spitting in my face (gross I know) I ran up to her before I did anything I looked my hands and I had four fingers I looked at them again and had seven fingers I also tried to put my finger through my hand and it worked then I held my nose and I was able to breathe through it I thought to my self, I'm dreaming, so I went to my sister and beat her down. Then i went to another place I don't know how I got there, but before I opened the door I tried to build up a setting so that when I opens the door I could just walk into it. The setting that i wanted to build was a garden, but instead I got some grass I don't know whether I was lucid or not or half lucid lol

      Sounds like u where lucid, basicly lucid dreaming just means that u know that ur dreaming while in the dream. Congratulations! Although, kinda rude to beat down your sister if u ask me, even if it's a dream.

      A lucid dream is simply any dream where at any point you realized you were dreaming. No ifs or buts about it.

      You either realize you dreaming, or you don't. And you got lucid (I thought to myself I'm dreaming). What you can have, is different levels of awareness, so sometimes it may seem you are only "half lucid", but in fact, it's just low awareness.

      Why do you think it could have been a "half lucid"? Happy dreams.

      In short, we can say that if you realize that you are dreaming then it was your lucid dream. So congrats for your first lucid dream.
