      Question Dreaming about lucid dreaming

So I'm new to this lucid dreaming. I have kept a dream journal for about a month and been doing regular reality checks for a month. Anyway, I am starting to get discouraged because I am trying to have a DILD but keep just dreaming about lucid dreaming. In my regular dreams I think im lucid, but I'm really not.. Anyting like this happened to you guys before? It is recurring and very annoying.

I have no doubt that I could easily do a WILD because I actually discovered astral projection before lucid dreaming and successfully astral travelled the second attempt, and I can pretty much enter sleep paralysis whenever I want to. So why am I having so much trouble with a simple DILD?

All opinions and any tips are appreciated. Thanks for reading :3

It happens to me a lot! Just look at it as your work is paying off, and making it through to your dreams.

Maybe you should increase your ADA, reality checks are good but only when you do them with intent. Simply RCing through the day is not enough - that just means you RC casually in your dreams without think about it. You need to stop, look around, really questions your reality and what you are doing. Take not of every detail, and then your RCs will be more meaningful, and lead to more LDs.

It may take some time, some people don't see results for many months, the important thing is confidence and sticking at it, you'll get there!

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper

It happened to me too! I dreamed about LD but i didn't become lucid, so annoying. It kept happening for two months and i finally had a LD, so don't worry and keep practicing!

I think thats a good sign. We've all done that. PS... I am on vacation now and am sleeping in... my LDs went from about one a week to 6 in 4 days! I feel like a dream God! Lighter late sleeping seems to increase my critical thinking just enough to realize I am dreaming.

      No no, don't give up

You are getting there. Dreams about lucid dreaming are common, when your thoughts start to influence your dreams. As isthisit says, add some daytime awareness and mantras, and put some emotions to RCs. Here is a tutorial with all that you need to succeed with DILD. Happy dreams.
